So are you having a lovely sunny day folks? :-6

Looking forward to lots of sun and fun for the fourth? :sneaky:

Well sorry luvvies...but I'm about to rain on your parade. :wah:

Get the sick buckets ready. :yh_rotfl

So anyway, on Wednesday we had our school sports day. I had a bottle of factor 35 suncream with me, seeing as how I burn easily and turn LOBSTER RED. :( But even though it was 86 degrees in the shade, there was a nice breeze blowing and I thought "It's not that hot" and "I'll put some suncream on later" Well, of course, you know what happened don't you? :wah:

Yup, I got so caught up in cheering the children on and lining them up to start their races and yelling at them to move when they forgot to run (:-5 !) that I never actually got around to putting any suncream on! :-5

That night I started to get redder and redder....

I slapped a vat-full of aftersun cream on to stop it stinging...

but the next day I just turned redder and redder and even redder.... until I was a very deep dark RED.

People were complaining that I was giving off so much heat I was making the staffroom too hot and they banished me from it! :-5 :wah:

Then one nice teacher suggested I use Aloe Vera. She promised me it would sooth the skin and take away any stinging. :)

So I bought a bottle. It's BRIGHT GREEN.

I keep using it on my sunburn but found it dries out really quickly and makes my skin itchy but when I scratch it the gel forms into little troll boogies that stick to my fingers and won't come off! I've tried shaking my hands and some flew off and stuck to FG (on my monitor) and some flew to the floor, so I have troll boogies on my feet now too! :lips:

So if you find you're meandering through the garden (at FG) and you find a bunch of sticky green troll boogies stuck to your feet.....well then it's your own fault cos you should have been wearing shoes! :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

LMAO@troll boogies. :yh_rotfl :yh_rotfl

If you can stand more pain to get rid of pain, try vinegar. It burns like hell, but for some reason seems to take a lot of the burn out. I had sun poisoning years ago and it's no fun.

How awful for you Rap. I'm afraid i go the other way. One glimpse of the sun and i tan. It was a gene we inherited from our great grandfather who left it as his legacy to save his future generation from spending money on tanning beds.

One year i was out for a full day in the sun with my huge sunglasses and when i got home, i had a brown face and white circles all round my eyes.

I'm a kinda Micheal Jackson in reverse.

The aloe vera is good for a serious sunburn. Keep putting it on!

People like you just make me sick! :p

The ONLY way that I go brown is if I get so many freckles on my arms that they all join up!

At the moment I'm half pink and half brown. If you skinned me I could be made into a pretty pink towel, or a nice notepad or cute flip-flops!

It's even an attractive colouring for pigs! :-5

It's just NOT attractive on Rapunzel's!!! :-5 :(

And now to add insult to injury ..... my nose is peeling! *sigh!*

Thanks Peg :) I tried vinegar years ago, the last time I got badly burnt. :(

I smelled like a fish and chip shop! :( :yh_rotfl
