I just read about a new method...I like it...

If someone calls trying to sell you something you don't want...just start talking gibberish, like so....

"Gills, dog carp!? Orange scoop froggies, ffffffllllllounder! FFFFFllllounder, Fffffllllounder!!!! Marshmallow! Carrot? Orangutan?--"

What are your methods of getting rid of these types of unwanted callers? (The no call list doesn't always seem to work.)

I've done telemarketing and it is not easy at all! I try to be nice and politely tell them I'm not interested. If that doesn't work, then I just hang up on them.

I immediately tell them no thank you I am not interested and hang up before they reply.

NO Tolerance for them!! Not at home, not at work.

I like to do the "inapproproiate disclosure" number on them, like this...

"Hello? Oh My God! Thank you so much for calling! I haven't talked to anyone since the funeral! My wife and daughter just died in a car wreck the day before yesterday and I've been all alone here since then! My wife was such a nice person, she .....blah blah blah"

I continue on with made-up personal details of her life until they can't stand it anymore and hang up on me.

Perfect, Jives...I'm going to write all these down...have a cheat sheet next to my phone!

I get calls at work asking for president, owner, I say immediately he is not available, then they as for second command or spouse and that blows me away spouse oh please go f yourself now.... how do they know there is a spouse and who says the spouse has any corporate say above me hmmmm so I simply say

well if it isnt' something you can discuss with me then I guess we are not interested.

Just say: Not-Interested- & Hang UP!!! Blunt rude & to the point!

My 17 year old son sounds like Jives. He'll answer the phone and start crying and telling them how mean it is to call with me dying last week. They usually apologize and hang up LOL.

it depends what mood i am in to how i answer, if i in bad mood i just tell them to f**k off and hang up. if i in a good mood i sometimes go along with them then tell them i aint interested. if it is one of those you have won a holiday i wait until they say you can take your husband on holiday with you i say either i am a lesbian can my girl come, or how much extra would it be if i took along our mistress lol it usually works!!!!!!!

My Mum was constantly plagued by these companies & made her life a misery, so i came online & stopped the buggers in their tracks.

i think the method of just telling them they have the wrong number is brilliant.

I have a very deep voice, so I always get "MR. CARLA IS YOUR WIFE HOME.." I say no and hang up..

Carla, you do NOT sound like a man on the phone! .....i simply never answer my phone. rather i have caller ID and will only answer for certain people. this is one way to avoid being called into the sheriff dept. on a day off. (then they send a cruiser, and i won't answer the door LOL) . also, my answering machine says the miranda warning, "you have the right to remain silent etc....... they hang up very fast! heh heh
