Oooo congrats both of you
I am dam proud of being able to leave a marriage of 17 years and go on successfully alone. Proud of going back to work because of it and proud of leaving the first "rebound and recovery crappy paying" job to a job I love with a company with a gleaming future.
Hotsauce I have to add, you are a delight to the forum you have the best topics to bring up. been a pleasure meeting you

I second Minks's delight. Great idea! Hotsauce, you should absolutely be proud! I guess mine would be being sober for 97 days.

Wow. Congrats to both LC and BR! Now those are accomplishments!
Me....eh.
Flying to the top of the stratosphere at Mach 2, into near space and looking down on all of America at once.
Playing to a crowd of over 1000 fans on my guitar with the Gin Blossoms.
Commanding the International Training Division of Fat Tuesday's Inc. with 20,000 people working for me.
Seeing 2/3 of the planet.
Getting my third Bachelor's...Hey it took me 11 years hotsauce! You beat me!
Getting my own school and bringing my kids up four years in Math ability this year so far.
Staying married for 10 years despite my girl's critical health problems. A weaker man would have bailed.

actually, i am proud of a lot of things that i don't want to enumerate, mostly having to do with raising good kids and with doing what is helpful to others on my job. i have prevented 5 suicides, but it's just doing my job. anyone would do it. cops get to do good things by the nature of the job. but that one guy, recently, really touched me. when i cut him down he fell into my arms and sobbed, his face was purple from lack of o2, he probably had 30 seconds left. my LT. made a big deal about it and i am getting a medal from the sheriff. but what struck me was what my LT. said to me, that if it were not for me and the knife in my pocket that young man would be in the morgue. that's when it hit me. maybe God helped me to be there. so the credit is not mine.

Getting married at 15 and staying married for 50 years (last MArch 14) and in the meantime raising four good kids, earning a MAster's Degree (eventually) and teaching for 20 years. Then retiring young enough to enjoy being retired!!
And Canaan there are many days in all our lives that getting the dishes all washed IS a big accomplishment. :-6

WOW.. to all of you!! I feel so insignificant compared to all that! But A THOUSAND CONGRATS to you all -- you all have accomplished so much.. many remarkable things.. and you all have much to be proud of!!
If I wore a hat -- I would tip it to all of you!!

(he-hee)
I hope as my life goes on.. I can add some 'bigger and better' things to my "list". I have a list of things I HOPE to accomplish.. and sadly that list is longer than what I can say I have actually accomplished thus far.
Right now.. I tend to side with Canaan -- getting my house in order and the laundry and dishes done... now THAT would be a huge accomplishment!! My hubby would throw a party!! :yh_party LOL
For now (and for always) -- I am very proud to be a Momma... and I suppose that alone is my biggest and proudest accomplishment! I am insanely proud of my 2 babies.. and the kinda kids they are turning out to be. Yeh - they are still super young.. but they are really good and amazing kids.. and I can only hope that I continue to give them all they need to grow up and be good teens and adults as well!
I'm proud of my marriage.. and even when the going gets rough and tough.. I am willing to stick it out and work to make it thru... Together!
I'm proud of the way I generally handle things -- the outlook I have on life and my ability to take the good with the bad.. and always try to make the best of any situation. I'm proud that I stick to what I believe and stand my ground when necessary, but that I am still always open to everything else that may be out there... the endless possibilities that is our world and universe.
I'm proud of the type of person that I am -- even tho I get S**T on for it sometimes. I've been told many times that "I am too nice"... but I know I am a good and decent person.. always honest, loyal and trustworthy.. and always treat people with respect and the way I would want to be treated. I'm far from perfect... made my fair share of mistakes and bad judgement.. but who hasn't. At least I know I have nothing to be really ashamed of.. esp when it comes to the kind of friend I am.. and how I treat others. So I guess I can be proud of that??
And even tho it is really hard -- I am proud of the way I deal with my health problems... and some of the setbacks that derive from that. I have alot of chronic conditions that make life tough.. some days worse than others... but I try not to wallow in it and don't let it get the best of me. I know there are some people that are much stronger than I when it comes to that sort of thing.. but I also know that there are some that would just give into to it all and let it ruin their lives.. so I try at all costs to avoid falling into that "pit".
So that's about it I guess... Now that your eyeballs are probably ready to fall out from reading all my babbling!! LOL Sorry!!
----------
Good Topic Hotsauce -- really got me thinking.. and puts some things into perspective.

I'm proud of my son, he's nearly eight and the two of us nearly died when he was born. The doctors all gave him a very bad prognosis, saying he wouldn't walk etc, it took him 2 1/2 years to prove them wrong. He has very poor muscle tone but he tries his best to keep up with his peers! He's also very good at reading, he's up with the girls in his class!

Pats on the back to all of you and for those who have not yet made it here, go on post something your proud of. nothing is too small, some days you just gotta be proud of yourself for getting yourself outta bed in the morning.
I have to say I am ultra proud of my parents, they have endeared an awful lot with my brother and I and remain married coming up to 47 years. I love them dearly.

I remember being really proud when I learned to tie my shoes!
I am proud to have grandfathers, father and a brother who were
Marines and/or in law enforcement.

I am proud to be an excellent horsewoman.
I am proud to have won arm wrestling against a woman 19 years my junior.
I am proud of my record as a blood donor; 33 years and counting!
I am REALLY proud of finally getting my act together and finding a good,
caring, loving man to share my life with.
