I posted in a thread in the compost pile a couple of days ago. I check today and the entire thread is gone. Not only that, there's a new thread that's not only relegated to Compost, it's closed as well!
WTF??
Has the Garden gotten so pristine that even conversations behind closed doors are forbidden? Should I be watching what I post in PMs now?

From what i remember (although i could be wrong) When threads went to the compost pile they had already been locked on the main board and were for read only. I looked for one a few months back that would have been a couple of years old (to see what a twat i had been at the time) It had gone. I would think thats a good thing.

PM's cannot be read by mods, and there is a warning posted on the compost pile posted by TS:
http://www.forumgarden.com/forums/compo ... rning.html
But sometimes a post is sent to the compost pile, and you click on it looking for the thread name and not looking at the category it is is in. I've done that many a time. That's what I get for going to bed or doing chores, things change over night!:wah:

I originally found it in the compost pile. Abbey had announced she deleted five posts and I commented on that ... in the compost pile. I went back yesterday to see if anyone had responded and the thread is gone. Another thread that Rap had started to discuss the previous thread was there, though. It had been closed.
My question is: why have a compost pile if we're not going to be allowed to continue the convo?

I'm trying to find that thread also, how did you find it?

Which one? One is in the compost pile. The other has apparently been censored right out of existence. I remember what I posted and did a search on "censor" "censoring" "censored" and "ashamed" and can't find it.
I guess the censors deleted it. Just trying to get verification.

The thread that was deleted was for legal reasons. If I'm wrong one of my colleagues will be along to correct me.
The one that is locked was locked after being put in the compost pile. The name calling and fighting didn't stop so it was locked. Simple really if the thread goes south it will be composted, then locked it is all up to the posters we just follow the rules.
Those rules are Tombstone's rules as he owns the forum. If you want to take it up with TS he is a fair guy and will hear you out as we do.

A compost pile is a mixture of decaying matter and should be left as so imo.

Ah but periodic stirring creates a fantabulous fertilizer, which makes the whole Garden more beautiful.

You really take offense to stuff like this, don't you?
It's done so it's done! Stop asking questions! If you don't like it you know where the door is!
That's the message that comes across, whether you mean it like that or not.

Can you give me an example of when the compost pile was stirred and it made the garden more beautiful?
I think Carla does mean (if you don't like it you know where the door is)
By and large i agree with her, way too much spitting the dummy going on of late since the mods arrived, people should use the forum as a form of entertainment and information resource, period. Anybody spending their life in here should be looking at how a internet forum is affecting them and deal with it asap.
When this forum was unmoderated there were always cries of (it should be moderated) now that it is, its too moderated.
They cant bloody win.

I'm not taking offense to it I'm just stating the facts as to how and why it happened. I will try to be less factual in my statements and fluff it up just for you ACC.

I apologize if I came across as abrubt wasn't my intention but sometimes the facts are the facts.
