Thumping music....

Just wondering how you feel about loud and or thumping music....You know the kind of sound that goes....tha thump, tha thump, tha thump....The kind of music that vibrates through your brain and half way down the street.

How do you feel about neighbors blasting their stereos?

I have a low tolerance for these vibrations, and I want to smack someone upside the head when they blast their stereos:wah:

I've been hearing someone blasting their "tha thump" music for the last 2 days. Today is quiet, and I'm only hearing it once in a while. I wondered why and found out that there is a dip in the main road close to me. When lots of traffic or heavy trucks go quickly over the dip, you hear the "tha thump" sound:yh_rotfl....me bad:o

I swear though that the next time I hear this loud music I'm going to place my stereo on my stoop and blare my Irish dancing music, opera music and Hank Williams music.

That should do the trick:D;)

OK, now I'll stop complaining, as I have to prepare to go to the guy store "Lowes" and order a sink, window and bathroom mirrored cabinet...never know how to order these things...so I took pics of the above.

Wish me luck:p

Have you ever been in traffic and had the "tha thump" behind you? Annoying as you can't hear your own music. I always make a beeline for the nearest intersection and turn to get away from "tha thump":wah:

If its overly thumped, an exaggerated thump that the artist didnt intend then its grossly offensive. If its something like Herbie Hancocks Dis Is Da Drums themed on African drum music then youre going to have to deal with it. It cant be played softly. Its jamming music. I could be wrong but when I crank my music at home or in the car Im quite sure people at the traffic light next to me or my neighbors are thinking "wow, that guy has great taste in music" !

If its an explosion in a movie Im watching that startles the guy next door I can only assume hes wishing I would invite him over so he can enjoy the movie too.

But I wont, hell just have to wish.

I got so fed up with the terribly loud trashy rubbish coming from the house across the road, I decided to do something about it.

I got my large guitar amplifier out and placed it near my open sash window (I played in a band in those days !). Then I plugged in my tape player, put on Beethoven's 1812 Overture (the version with actual canon fire in it !) turned the wick up to full, and played the whole overture through the open window! When it had finished, I put everything away. There was total silence from the house across the road, and it continued to be quiet from that neck of the woods for the rest of the time I was living in that road! My son had to go to the little shop along the road, about an hour later, and the fella who owned the shop said ' Did you hear that big music with guns a while ago?' so my son said that he had, and wasn't it loud! The shopkeeper agreed and said it had rattled his windows very badly !! His shop was about 100 yards from our house !! :yh_rotfl :yh_rotfl :yh_rotfl

I make sure next door are out before cranking up the stereo. Rarely hear anything from them or even the street, but then, my street is full of predominantly retired couples.

That's the thing about low frequency sound waves.

They are very long, and to get the full impact of a low bass note, you have to be a good distance away from the source, where the wave is fully formed.

I worked at a hi-fi shop in the 1980s and early 90s, and we had a digital CD recording of the 1812 Overture with real cannons. The cover had a warning label on it about the digital cannons.

Fortunately, we had really good and really powerful equipment. Sitting in the sound room didn't get you anywhere near the impact of those cannons. They were far more powerful when heard (and felt) at the other end of the store.

We live out in the country with few neighbors, but our home is near a busy highway. Occasionally, a vehicle will go by, and for a few seconds, we can hear that "thump thump thump" from the speakers inside that passing vehicle. To me, it's amusing but frustrating. We can't hear the music for the thump. How can they drive with their speakers on so loud? They're probably texting too.

Hey my friends,

I live in a seaside town that is near a mega party, holidaying town only a few blocks from us. Even though we live so close to this town, we don't have the craziness that they do...:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl except for the drunken college students banging on my door at 2:30 AM thinking that this is where their friends live...scary but in the end harmless...police arrive at my home within minutes to scurry them to the drunk tank....Thank goodness it's only happened a few times.

I live only a block away from the beach and have an Italian restaurant next door that will hand deliver our food orders over the fence:wah:

So all is really wonderful at my home except for the crowds at times and loud renters. We have a few residents on my block who live here year round. But, we also have some renters who don't really care about the place that they rent and act crazy at times. But, our police force is there to quiet them down.

I just have a few year round renters, across the street, who blast their stereo and party waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyytoo much. Luckily it's mostly on the weekends.

I'm worried about the apartment next to me as the renters have moved. The owner of the apartment also owns the restaurant so he really tries to rent to nice people. I'm just hoping he'll find some nice renters for a year's lease so he won't rent to weekly renters. But, he does try...poor guy...

;)

It's hard to deal with some renters next door because we share a fence, which I own, and a driveway. They tend to hang their clothes on my fence instead of their own, break parts of my fence, and often park in my driveway. They also party on my stoops....

Ducky had to call me at midnight because I was so upset over their behavior. I didn't want to call the police because the dad next door was a great man. I dealt with the kids myself. Thank goodness for my Ducky friends:-4

Sorry for venting...it felt good...thanks for listening...
