So ... here's the thing.

Tomorrow I am handing in my notice to a company that I have given 11 years of my life to. I've loved almost every minute of the time I've had there, but it's finally time to move on.

I'm going back to college in September to do a Teaching Assistants course. As some of you already know, I've been rattling on about this for months on end. I can hear you all heaving a huge sigh of relief that it's finally happening:wah:

For those of you who I've discussed this with on many,many occasions ... (I'm not gonna name names) thank you all so very much for giving me such fantastic advice and listening to my endless ramblings. I am truly thankful to all of you :-4

Although this scary, it feels like the right thing to do. :D

Good for you, the biggest step is the first one.

I wish you all the best and just know that you will be successful.

I handed in my notice this morning. Both my supervisor and my manager were aware that I would do that today. We have been in discussions for a couple of weeks because I wanted to go part time rather than leave.

The powers that be seem to be dragging their heels on the issue so the way things stand at the moment, I will officially finish here on August 28th (although my last day in the office will be August 17th - I have leave booked ). In the mean time ... if it is agreed that I can reduce my hours, my notice will be withdrawn. My colleagues are totally gobsmacked but very happy that I'm doing something that makes me happy :-6
