Cinema Bleach Attack On Mum After Harry Potter Screening: Boy Denied Bail By Leeds Court | UK News | Sky News

As the teenager is under 17 years old, in this country, he is legally classified as a 'child' which will be taken into account when he appears in court.

If they are capable of this and more......... should they be classed as 'children'?

Yes, it's well documented that children and those of the ages to 22 have different mind and cognitive interpretation and reasoning skills . That's why it's so easy to recruit young people to sign up to the armed forces during War time. Seriously, it's true. After the age of 25 humans reason differently and tend to ask more questions of themselves and the world about them. That's why it's important to have seperate rights and courts for younger persons.

Yes, a family member has shown me that ;) It's hard to comprehend the violence inflicted by some so young though.

Not really a two year old can indulge in the most disgusting of behaviour. Take a 'tantrum' for instance, funny in some respects but if another two year old is standing by or a younger baby, a younger child can inflict the most terrible of injuries.

did you know that studies have found that 6 month olds are capable of racism?

yep I'm full of trivial information ..or just full of it, you be the judge.:D

I don't suppose that just for once we could assume this chap's innocence until the court delivers a verdict, could we?

On a point of information, the age of criminal responsibility in England is a child's tenth birthday. Anything after that is considered for mitigation or discharge by the court on the basis of a professional assessment of the child's mental capacity.

Well, that does surprise me! What does racism at 6 months consist of? If it's just awareness of a different skin colour I wouldn't call that racist...

Yes, we must wait for a court to deliver a verdict.

Yes, you are correct that a child of 10 can be held criminally responsible however, any youth under the age of 17 is classified as a child in this country.

You are indeed amazing Spot and your not often wrong ;)

That's what I thought when I first read it. but reading further it seems that even babies can pick up on minute cultural differences. And it can have a profound effect on them. This genre of study is only new . Some professor has taken it on at one of the Universities (in Sydney I think) under community health..Can't find the original paper i was reading but here's something to go from http://www.dynamicexport.com.au/news/au ... tudy00320/
