No more BLING!

It came up in another thread that we need a more tolerable name for "Bling". For those blissfully unaware, Bling is the nauseating name given to the trend in sparkly jewelery.
There is a reward for the winning replacement word. We will never have to hear that word again if the new name sticks. I will market the term for no profit.
My first effort:
glitterware

As someone who doesn't even like real diamonds, I have to agree with gawdy

...but I don't think it will catch on.

Hehehe......props to koan for this thread.
Well let's see now, glitterware is OK, sounds a bit too like tupperware though.
Gawdy it certainly is but that's just not silly enough for me and again sparkletrend does not really convey the laughable shallowness of people who feel the need to bedeck or adorn themselves from head to toe in sparkly stuff.
For me they are screaming out to be mocked and mocked they shall be, (all in fun of course), so in a lame attempt at pythonesque humour I proffer.....
Blib-Blob.
I can hear it now....(think MTV Awards)
" My god! he was dripping in blib-blob."
" She had blib-blob on every finger"
"Is that a real blib-blob"
" He got his blib-blob caught in his guitar"
Can you imagine walking into Tiffanys and saying..." I'd like to buy a 3 carat blib-blob thanks." :wah:

The traditional UK term used to be flash as in "flash harry" same connotation was asociated with the criminal underclass.
