Actually it's a fairly big issue here. We've also been dumping toxic waste in india and africa-it's illegal, American companies are at it as well as European. Actually if I were you I would worry more the toxic waste american companies have dumped at home.

It does seem that the British Embassy are looking in to it, according to your article. Bad, though. I have no problem with a trade in waste that can be recycled, but this is just dumping. Do let us know if you come up with the names of the companies.

Good thing there is regulation of this market under which bad companies can be penalised.

The criminals responsible for this - three arrests have been made. The stuff should be back here by now, for proper disposal.

Wonder what happened to all those great ideas about making fuel and electricity from trash?

The US rather lags some other parts of the world in that, sadly. Denmark generates around 5% of its total electricity from waste incineration, Germany's not far behind, it's a maturing technology but deploying it's well under way. The potential for dealing with farm waste is taking off too, there are a lot of new commercial anaerobic digesters feeding the National Grid in the UK.

Happy to hear someone is developing this technology. I always been interested in this sort of thing but have been out of touch on it lately. Don't read well these days.

They started using human soil as fertiliser in England some years ago. Cheap and effective, but you notice the pong. Much worse than pigs, though not as strong. I'm generally in favour, but it won't do much for tourism if too widespread.:D
