My mum told me yesterday that she had told me lied to me when I was five.

I had a black and white smooth haired guinea pig called Elizabeth that I adored.

When at school Elizabeth died. Instead of my parents telling me of Elizabeth's demise they rushed round to the local pet shop and bought another one.

On arriving home from school i saw that Elizabeth had changed, her coat was now long and spiky. My parents told me that Elizabeth had been ill and had an injection. The injection had shocked her and this resulted in her having a spiky coat. I believed them.

Have you ever told your children a little white lie?

I know that little white lie.... When I go to Australia I am leaving my dog with my parents. I will tell also tell him it wont be long.

Mind you he has a lovely time with them, they also live in the country, with open fields and streams to play in. My dad will definately sucumb to giving him extra treats. It sure is a dogs life with them. So I dont feel too guilty.
