Don't assume you know what someone is like, just because you say hello everyday.

This past Saturday my brother--in-law, Steve was riding his 20-speed.

(my brother in law is 45 years old, in top shape, has climbed 20 mountains including Kilimanjaro in Africa, he has also ran in various races for Charity)

when he was riding his bike, a huge dog kept leaping at him, he kept yelling at the dog to go away. ( as the dog was trying to knock Steve over) The dogs owner & his friend stood there and did nothing. When Steve rode past him again, the dog did the same thing, and the owner was still there with his friend.

Steve knew this man as he rode by each day and yelled hello, he would yell 'hello good buddy back.

The dog owners friend then came up, pushed Steve onto the pavement punching him in the face.......a good Samaritan came up and stopped the fight, called an ambulance. Steve had a broken nose and lacerations. Steve's so call friend had been drinking that day. If I could show you his face, it was unrecognizable. His wife Polly was at the hospital with him by this time, they took x-rays but it didn't show anything. Needless to say they were both in shock as to what and why this happened. They went to the police station and filed charges.

The next day Steve had a scan done, as said the x-rays showed nothing, he has 3 broken chins bones as well and will need plastic surgery.

The following day they went to thank the good Samaritan. He had told Steve, if I wasn't there, you would have died as you were unconscious.

Steve, once again in shock said what? He said Steve, you were unconscious, this one guy is smashing you in the face and the dog owner was kicking your sides and rolling you back and forth on the cement.

Steve had no idea he was unconscious.....

.....he had no idea the dog owner was beating his sides.....he had wondered why his sides where so damn sore?

They went to the police station and filed complaints on the dog owner, the one who Steve yelled hello to each day.

Now, Steve is suing them both.

(Steve has incurable prostate cancer now, he has 2-7 years to live, more like 2-3 years, his specialist said) (He had his prostate removed just 8 months ago because of cancer and the cancer has returned.)

We just found this out in August this year, Steve was not going to sue the man for breaking his nose, as he just doesn't have time, as court cases go on for years plus he refused to because he knows he is dying and has other thing to do, he has quit his job and he and Polly will be traveling.

-Steve is now suing them both.

-our family and their friends are still in shock...how can people do this to a human being?:-5:-5:-5

OH Odie - how terrible

Why & How can people inflict pain onto another..??? don't know - Example:

Small framed girlfriend of mine has been renting a home @ 2 1/2 yrs. Went on Vacation - sent in a money order before leaving.

Comes back to a additional bill of $175.00 late charges..!!!

The address/ P.O. Box had been changed & they can't be responsible for the mail causing your payment to be late ..!!!!!

She goes to the Office to correct the error - at the Office, a Large lady gets hostile and comes around her desk & BODY SLAMS Her to the WALL...

Takes her purse etc.. and wrenches her arm while trying to take her purse..!!

2 1/2 years of renting from this Company - don't assume you know them..!!!

they thanked that good Samartian & they sent him a cheque for 5,000.00 for saving his life and a thank you card.

So sorry about your brother in law, Odie.

Yes, I agree. Life sometimes shows up with real unpleasant surprises.

Odie, That is a really sad and shocking story. Poor guy, to have gotten so much abuse from a person who he thought was on friendly terms with him.

Odie, thank you for the much needed reminder that we should always be careful when dealing with people.

it was shocking Nok.

since then he has had to see a breathing specialist as when his nose was broken his breathing is harder now.

he has also seen a specialist for plastic surgery as its such a mess.

yeah, just be careful who's out there that may seem friendly.

they missed the first court date...sent their lawyer instead.......one lawyer for them both......

next weeks is to see if they plea guilty.

week after will be their sentence.

then Steve will be suing them both in civil court.:D

He is carrying on and getting stronger every day now.

no idea if they will get jail sentences as the courts will appeal first offenses.

they will probably be fined and do community work?

but Steve will be suing them in civil court for bodily harm, harassment, mental and physical abuse, lose of time of work...etc....etc.....etc....:D

they truly are vile animals:-5.....so when you go out walking and wave to the same neighbors each day...

..they are not always who you think they are.;)

I am so glad he is getting on with things. I dont understand the need of some people to just randomly hurt others. It's just evil. And it always seems to happen to the good ones! I mean is that supposed to be a law of nature or something? :(

the one who owned the dog that was running around Steve was slapped with fines for letting the dog run free, and no license for the dog and he was drunk.

the other just joined in.

Is Steve still out on his bike? I certainly hope so. (albeit in the opposite direction) Thats what is so evil about what people do! It forces us to change our behaviour and sense of being in this world. And it just isnt right! This life is sure tough on good folks. And it should be the other way around!

He's out on his bike.....but he had to change his directions to avoid these two.

he also walks 5km every night as well, so he changed his directions on that also.

In December he climbs Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa!

I'm so proud of Steve!:-4
