I came from a similar place just a few weeks ago. We were fed up with our other site. My friends and I moved over here. This place is great! Everyone is nice...no crazies...and I laugh out-loud quite a bit too. Stick around...you will like it!

I am new here and need to get to meet some new people and let you know why I am here.

I am part of a group of friendly chatters who have been together on the internet for about five years now.

We have recently become totally disheartened with our "homebase" . I won't say where on the internet we used to hang out , but just that is no longer user friendly.

Most of us are middle age stay at homers with some time on our hands and all we want is friendly chat with an accepting group of people.

They sent me out to "scout" some new territories.

I am having fun reading all of the posts here so far.

Please let me know if anyone who has been posting here for awhile thinks we might fit in here.

Thanks so much and have a nice day.

Sandee

Hi Sandee,

Welcome to FG! I think you will be pleased with the "garden". It's a friendly and intelligent (unless I post!) place. Many of the participants here are "at home" folks - either moms, dads, or people who work from home. (I work from home and am Mr. Mom much of the time.)

See you on the forums!

Good afternoon, Sandee! the calm, quiet of the Garden is a 'Castaway's Paradise" for myself as well. I am a middle-aged school teacher and I had to actually leave my old boards for the same reason. It became populated with cursing, flaming sex-obssessed teenagers.

the debate in here can become heated, but it's always respectful and we all walk away friends at the end of the day. Then we head over to Bothwell's Pub to hang out together!

It's very much a family atmosphere and you sound like you'd fit right in! :D

Welcome to FG!!! You have heard from several others who "escaped" crappy forums and found FG, and I'm one of them, too! It's a great place, full of very diverse folks who put in a good amount of effort to keep it friendly. (I'm not one of them, I thrive on controversy.... :yh_bigsmi )

Like every other place, we have our disagreements, but that's part of what keeps it interesting. I've found people here I call friends, and I think you and your group will too! Bring them along, the more the merrier! :yh_peace
