Sometimes when I can't sleep I watch a fabulous programme on Sky 3 called 'Taste' where chefs come on and do their thing. By the way... I adore the presenter Beverley Turner also. The other night, a chef was making prawn Paella. Right at the last moment of cooking, he poured in half a pint of squid ink that turned the whole dish jet black and looked revolting.
Has anyone tried this?

Sounds like something Andrew Zimmern on the show "Bizarre foods" would like.

The best bit was when the chefs have finished cooking the Fab Bev, the presenter samples the dish. It was the look on her face as that spoon went In and the desperate attempt to smile as she swallowed It. I think this is one I won't try :wah:
YouTube - Taste -Beverley with chef Marcus Wareing. Fun and flirty again!
Why do they stick such fab progs on so late at night??? :-5

Oh my husband complains of that all the time! We have to get up at 4am so a late night is pretty much out of the question.

It's a bummer eh? All the best progs are on late at night. I tuned into one called 'Fear of Fanny' last night thinking It was about Virgina aversion and It was a play about 'Fanny Craddock' the TV cook.

I don't use it myself, but you can easily buy black pasta here, alongside the green, red and orange varieties - coloured I guess with squid ink, basil etc, tomato and carrot to add interest to what otherwise might be boringly white. Can't say I've noticed that much difference in taste though.

Thanks for the links Pam and I've had a good read. No... I just could not bring myself to add squid Ink as It's the colour of the Rissotto that makes me feel sick :wah: Great advice about cleaning squid though.

I agree, Oscar - Risotto should look like rice not lico-rice.

The one with the tattoo of missing angel wings looks like they have been in a gang fight and got slashed.
The more I think about this, the more I feel the ink is better off with the squid being left to mind his own business squirting at fellow ocean creatures as and when he feels like It.
