Angel, what a great topic!!! :yh_bigsmi

Right now, my biggest hero is my sister. She has just got out of a marriage, the circumstances of which are too personal to post. (Suffice it to say, it would have driven most women to homicide, or suicide.)

And since getting out of her marriage, she's bought a house, redone the whole thing, is raising her very difficult and very intelligent son by herself, going to school and holding down a full-time job, all while pulling herself out from under 26,000 dollars worth of marital debt in 18 months.

Yep, she's pretty damn impressive.

My father is has and always will be my HERO. He died way to young at 57 I miss him greatly. He was one of those men who could do anything. He taught me how to work on cars, how to use tools, how to build, how to do electrical work. He taught me just about everything I know. He was a humble man who had the respect of many. He was honest, trust worthy, worked hard all his life, and above all else instilled in me values that I live by today.. :-4 :yh_worshp

My mother-in-law is my hero. She had 5 children under the age of 13 when she found out her husband had fathered another child (and we're talking 35yrs ago). He went to live with his 'new' family while abandoning his wife and children. She held down 3 jobs to keep her family together. She nursed his father through cancer. She got on with her life, while he left his 'new' family and began stalking her. He beat her within an inch of her life and my husband who was only a child at the time, had to ring the police and tell them his dad was trying to put his mum's head through the kitchen wall.

All of my in laws tell me they didn't have much, but there was so much love and laughter in their house and how much their father has missed out on. He's old and has ill health now, but you can see his children have love for him but it doesn't come close to the love they have for their mother.

She's a fantastic lady who I adore. My husband and I, his sisters and his mum all live on the same estate and we all huddle there most days and she's always cooking something that we all dip into!! :)

Gosh my father I think, because he has always and i mean ALWAYS been incredibly stable and my brother and I needed him many a time. He raised us with amazing values (oh and mom as well) He has accepted people into his life without bias and even after they caused great grief, he still refuses to "hate" I love my dad more than I ever seem to be able to tell him.

The American country singer Randy Travis is my biggest hero. His songs have touch my life a great deal, coincidently one of my favourites among his songs is titled "Heroes and friends".
