How Does GotThere think She GotThere?

Hi All,

I started writing (in word) a letter about all this, and then decided when I got to page 2 that it was a little much :D

So, I just wanted to thank you all for the great welcome back, but I am not sure that I am staying. I think what prompted me to come back and say hi, was this overwhelming feeling of wanting to say thank you to you guys :-4

This last year has got my son off meds, got my family laughing again (like 10 years overdue), got us all appreciating life and realising that the 'head' docs really need to get back to basics and re-think!

Anyway, here is my Facebook status which probably says most of how I feel ...

"Thanks to the massive psychology/psychiatry/pharmaceutical industries, what were once normal childhood behaviors are now mental disorders like ADHD."

FDA now admits antidepressants and ADHD drugs can CAUSE violent and suicidal behavior in children!

I just wanted to thank you all for making me laugh and helping me through some rough times. I want to esp. thank ...

Kathy Ellen ... For being the teacher that made me think I might be wrong about teachers (home-schooling makes you realise what an awesome job you guys do, esp you Kathy! Sorry I blamed the teachers :-( ).

WonderWendy ... For staying strong through all her sh1T and helping me be strong :-4

Nomad ... LOL! For making me just laugh so much!

Spot ... For making me move outside of the box, and forgiving my dumber moments :-4

Betty Boop ... (she knows why :-4)

Anyway thanks everyone. :-4

Thanking for adding your facebook update here. You have helped me with something in a way that you will not be aware of when you state that FDA now admits antidepressants and ADHD drugs can CAUSE violent and suicidal behavior in children!

I'm glad to hear that you have 'got there'. It takes determination and courage to come through life changing events.

You took on a huge responsibility there home schooling, and it really worked out so well. You have a lovely family, and I'm so happy for you.

Hey Pheasy maybe home schooling is the way to go, I have one unhappy lad on my hands just a few weeks into a new secondary school. He's harder work now than he was two years ago, he's lost all independence he had found at home. I feel pretty crap as a mother that I cannot get him to go and do something as simple as have a bath without it becoming a major issue where I have to take him through everything step by step. It's slowly doing my head in where the push for independence at school is far more important than anything else going on in their lives :-5
