The story of paying attention to detail.
A pathologist has a group of students under-going training.
On their first day, the pathologist un-viels a corpse ready for disection.
He stresses to his students how important it is to observe everything he does in the most detail.
He tells his class to pay attention and with that, rams his finger up the corpse's rectum, places his finger in his mouth and sucks hard.
He then tells every student to repeat what he has just done.
After they have all finished, he reminds them that he told them to pay great attention to his actions.
He tells them 'As you should have observed, I placed my Index finger in the corpse rectum and sucked my MIDDLE finger !!!
15 students fainted.

I'm struggling with the word "true" at the moment.
James Robertson Justice is hovering at the back of my mind.

How does the "true" add to the entertainment?
Really, it often puzzles me, it would be a kindness for you to explain it just this once.

That just labels you transparently gullible if you're being serious and vacuously uncooperative if you're not.
http://www.snopes.com/college/medical/urine.asp traces the story back to around 1880 and says they've no idea how much further back it might have started.
Seriously, why abuse the concept of "true" in the context of humour? What does it add? People are for ever doing it, you just did it, an explanation of why would help a lot. Is it an intensifier? Can anyone be so asinine as to believe the word in any literal sense when it's used this way? If nobody could be that stupid, how does it intensify anything?

Oh truley! Personally I think it harks back to convincing your parent you arent telling porkies. Only time it is used as an intensifier. Truely!

Why are you so miserable? Why can't you just enjoy a humourous story without having to pull the poster to pieces? There are millions of urban myths in this world... do we have to prove their authenticity just for you to nit pick? I found it funny, others found it funny, so why can't you just lighten up? My reference to the story being true or untrue is less annoying to you than you are to me at feeding your ego on folk's threads. It was a bit of fun... All you do is deter other members from posting some entertainment for fear of being pulled to pices by you. Go and pick the wings off a crane fly instead !!!

oscar;1251980 wrote: Why are you so miserable? If you found it even remotely amusing it says a lot about the state of your mind and if you genuinely thought it was true you're as mad as a plateful of beetroot.

You know, I bet she lacks your charisma
and I bet she has less overall charm
and it's quite likely she can't compete at Mensa qualification tests
but maybe she's still as much a dance floor magnet as I am.

Posters build avoidance strategies when it comes to discussing matters they're unwilling to focus on. It's sheer rudeness. I asked a perfectly legitimate question and got the traditional rebuff instead of a rational discussion. A rational discussion would be so much more interesting.
