Alway wanted to play the piano but never have. When I turned 50 I promised myself I would either take piano lessons or learn to TAP DANCE I took TAP and loved it, best exercise I ever had. ;)

Guitar for about fifteen years and octave mandolin for about ten. Neither well but then, I don't practice enough to be a good player.

How much do you play in public Lon?

I don't play in public despite being asked a number of times to do so. I play for friends and family and for my own pleasure.

It's a good way to sharpen your playing up - if you know you're going to be playing before an audience, however small, you put the work in to polish a piece up.

It was when I moved and stopped going to the sessions that practice went out the window :-(

Guitar and 5 string banjo, play less and less as i get older, never seem to find the time to play anymore. I did buy a rather good karaoke system this week in time for Christmas but i dont suppose that counts.

As young kidlets in school, we had to choose a musical Instrument to play. Most kidlets went home and told their parents they wanted a recorder. I can still remember my Fathers face when I told him I wanted a Saxaphone. I never got one, I got a violin but was useless at It. Later in life I learnt to play the bass guitar and play a pretty mean Intro to 'Peaches' and 'Nice N Sleazy' by the Stranglers.

Piano-48 years

Violin-22 years

Flute-1.25 years

Accordion-45 years

Organ-only when I have to

You are never too old to learn an instrument, remember, I learned the flute last summer.

But it is much more fun to be concertmistress, and have an orchestra around you. We are rehearsing for Christmas, oh my, probably a full orchestra this time. I will play piano this year, much easier than first chair violin.

I practice something everyday, usually at school now since I have my instruments stashed in the science storeroom. Had some complaints last week, when I played on the piano Billy Joel and Elton John songs at 7:30 in the morning..........:wah:

Too bad!

If you could play them all at the same time you could be an orchestra.:guitarist

I mostly play guitar and keys. I've been playing the piano since I was four and I just kind of picked it up on my own. It was the same with the guitar. Over the years I've tried my hand at various other instruments, but nothing serious. I've played and recorded professionally and formed/fronted a number of bands throughout my university days, but it's been years since I've done anything professionally. I believe there are still a few links in my profile to songs that I've composed. I also used to create ringtones for cellphones.
