I want to praise one of my local Police Officers to the max here.

I have to be very careful what I say as It's an on-going enquirey.

I did post 5 weeks ago that I had a very unpleasent experience late one night with a group of youths. I was alone and totally outnumbered. The police were round my house in an instance and after discussing It at length, I urged the Officers not to bother Investigating it as I was alone and the yobs would deny deny deny and all back each other up. The Chance of a prosecution was Nil. I even signed a disclaimer as I did not want the officers wasting their time for something we all knew could not be proved.

Since then, One of the Officers has phoned us regually and we have talked at length. He told me he wated to persue It as what happened to me was totally unacceptable in his book. He has put in a huge amount of time and work tracking down one youth in Particular. He phoned this morning and let's just say, that youth is in for a nasty surprise.

The Officer has spent 5 weeks looking into this while the youth has been laughing thinking he got away with It.

If only we had more Officers like this? An Officer who I believe truely cares for the folk in his community and listens to people.

Three cheers for the PC. :-6:-6

We have a huge problem here with yob culture and I really do feel bad for them. Some weeks ago, it took 7 police units two solid hours to clear the street of up to 80 drunken youths.

I was on the phone to the local Tory this morning and he said they are all up to here with this culture. He wants parents of feral yobs before the courts. What do you think?

I think they need to round them all up and put them in work camps for awhile. Crash course in consequenses for bad decision making 101. When they can show to be productive people, then they graduate. or force them to do community work! Like pick up all the road rubbish!

There is a new scheme in place now called 'Restorative Justice'. My friends were the subject of assault by two teenagers and one was put into the scheme by the court. Part of it involves the victems having a say in what community work their attacker must carry out. As he is Turkish, I rang the dept on his behalf and we asked to have that person cleaning our streets. They have to do It or they are back in court. The police put them In high Vis jackets and over-see the operation. When I was reading all the paperwork, I was shocked to read that they claimed one third of violent crime is carried out by under 18 yr olds but hang on, that's not what the Labour Party and Government try telling us is It? How humiliating for the offender? To be seen cleaning streets with all your pals watching and laughing at you? It's quite new so It will be Interesting to see the figures for re-offending.
