I uploaded a pic today of the top shelf of my cabinet for a new member who shares an Interest with me in the Ancient Egyptians and then I got to thinking.

You can tell much about a person by what's on their shelves.

When ever folks post their pics here, I always snoop in the background of the Pic to see what's on the shelf behind them.

There-fore, I want you all to post a Pic of your shelves please so I can have a good snoop. Then I can tell what kind of peep you are.

Photos of my kids, from birth to now. On the piano are the photos of my grandson.

In between, little pretties-porcelain kitties and bunnies, running in between the years.

I have pics of my kids, grandkids, and great nephew every where. I have a wall full of pics, shelves full of pics, the top of the t.v., any where I can stick them.

those are really stunning pieces! Pete bought me the Gold death mask of King Tut one Christmas. The pic doesn't actually do him Justice. The small bust of his mother Queen Nefertiti didn't come out very well. He got me that In Cairo. Now the lounge decorating is finished, It's so nice to have my things on display again. The second shelf Is full of Cyrstal paperweights. I get him one every Christmas. Then I have some very old glass perfume bottles. God, I hate the polishing. :wah: I have more things In storage I am hoping to get out on display soon but I do also hate Clutter now.

Oh, I would love to see a pic of his Cutty Sark. I love anything nautical especially mermaids and ships. We have a lovely, little shop in town that sells wonderful clothes and beachy stuff. They had an excess of ships and I bought them for a song:-4 I'm happy that you still have the shells:p

I dont have any shelves :wah: i have hardly any ornaments too ,, couple of elephants,, some african people, a vase a bowl thats a clock thats about it:wah: i have some shleves in my kitchen actually come to think of it ,, those kitchen unites that have gass doors and little lights in,,, i mostly have some nice glasses and decanters in there,, some awards we were given from footbal,, decanters and vases etc,, and one is a lovely glass Rose made in the clubs colours in a nice little glass cabinet thing of its own. I used to have my crystal bird collection in there but they aer all wrapped up and put away in a cupboard now

Wow! Each room has different 'stuff'. In the computer room: lots of shelves with video tapes, photo albums, small photos, books of all sorts, Chinese vases & statues, Las Vegas memorabilia, a few musical instruments (small). That reminds me, I have to dust today. Living room has all Indian pieces, lots of horses! and a Himalayan salt crystal lamp & a lava lamp. Dining room has some glass fruit and a 6' wooden 'tree', hand-carved with shelves, which holds my collection of bird figurines.One bedroom has all butterflies. Another bedroom has a statue by Bressin. The kitchen & breakfast room have chickens, hundreds of chickens! On the patio: lots of potted plants. Time for a yard sale!:wah::wah:

Don't have a mantle, hence no fireplace. But do have windowsills that are wide enough to accompany pix of the kids & top of tv right now has halloween decos on it...and a Yankee candle that is to die for. I think it's the most aromatic one I've bought so far...almond cookie.:-4

Anyhow I don't have any shelves on the walls but I do have four free standing shelves in their boxes lying on the floor in the spare bedroom.

:yh_rotfl Oh, that's right! How clever of you. I think with a little tempura paint and a few scraps of lace, maybe a ribbon or two, pink for the bride & blue (?) for the groom, Hoppy could make a right nice table decoration, or slap a few pine needles and a cone or two and voila! a yuletide treat just perfect for a center piece (scatter a little of the oatmeal around to make it look Christmasy) or painted with tropical scenes and placed over a lightbulb . . . .
