I believe ignorance is bliss to the non compassionate.

We all live lives of energy. We can halt that energy and divert that energy but we cannot change the fact it's been released.

Which is to say that ignorance is bliss for those that don't care whom it hurts in the future. The argument being is if it harms those in the future and I know it does as defined by ignorance itself. Ignorance wouldn't be defined as ignorance if one knew he/she were ignorant.

Yes that would be true if ignorance weren't to be coveted. Some people seem to stray from the idea that ignorance is unacceptable, as defined by outside observations. Tis only then they define themselves as ignorant. From which some seem to enjoy. :yh_sick

Could Ignorance also be classed as Unexperienced or Unaware?

Only for those that choose to be ignorant when they're expected by moral obligation to be informed. It's deciding what people should know when they should know it is up for debate. Most of which is overwhelmingly seen as obvious, from which you get your definition of the word "ignorance". The society from which deems the aforementioned as being coveted information are those that define, equal in measure to the lack of the concerned, from which society calls the "ignorant".

You can't expect one to know if no one's obligated to teach.

Which is to say everyone, as defined by moral certainty, is obligated to teach themselves. When they do not feel obligated to teach themselves then they define themselves as ignorant. The ignorant being those that care not for themselves, from which a lack of concern for themselves endangers those around them and thus you get immoral fortitude. Which argues against the OP.

Well, within the appropriate context of the word "bliss" obviously! :wah: :yh_wink

K Snider uses English words, but tends to put them together in such a way I remain ignorant of his meaning.

I must be ignorant then.

I think you have your definitions opposite to one and the other.

Ignorance in my mind is defined when one has the ability to understand a certain concept yet chooses to not inform themself. Ignorance: uneducated in general; lacking knowledge or sophistication; "an ignorant man"; "nescient of contemporary literature"; "an unlearned group ... The connotation lying on the emphasis within the relation of "ignorance" to the very definition of the word "unaware" not aware or informed; lacking knowledge

# unawares - without forethought or plan; inadvertently; "came upon the diamond unawares" from which ultimately implies ones choice to be unaware...

Conversely, in my mind, stupidity is defined as having the inability to grasp certain concepts. Stupidity: lacking or marked by lack of intellectual acuity from which, obviously, denotes the suggestion one doesn't have the choice to inform his/herself of that which society would ultimately have to demand one "should" know from which you lie face toward the definition of "ignorance".

Simple in my mind.
