I have a huge craving for a hamburger.
It's that kind of craving where I want to make sure it's a really good hamburger or the disappointment will be too overwhelming. Kind of like having a plate of onion rings and trying to make sure the last one you eat is the best on the plate so you can savour it for longer.

Nice seeing you again on the Forum, Koan.
Where do YOU go to get a GOOD hamburger? Out.....or just cook it yourself at home?

I'm thinking the pub down the street might have something good. Haven't been there but they probably put fancy cheese on it.

I do that
A really great burger is better than steak
Mushrooms & Swiss
Cheddar & bacon
Teryiaki & green onion
all pretty good burgers

We have a "Fuddrucker's which is your basic "build your own burger" place, but the best in town is "Clancy's Pub" which serves a "Green Chili Burger" on a tortilla, smothered with homemade New Mexican green chili sauce and cheese. (Man, those Hatch new Mexico green chilis are the best in the world!):p

I love good Aussie burgers.
You need a real crusty bread roll (no steamed to oblivion soggy sesame seed bun), real butter, fresh lettuce from an actual garden, ditto tomato, a slice of aussie beetroot (not the pickled stuff), a ground beef (minced beef) patty you make yourself and fry up with onion, then bacon, a fried egg and if you have to put cheese on it, a slice of non processed, proper cheddah, with taste. Some people add pineapple. Then slurp tomato sauce (ketchup) generously over the lot, and she'll be apples, Sport!!
(No raw onion, no pickles, no mayo)
Unlike the McDonalds style 'burger' which can be sucked into the mouth and swallowed whole in one great gulp, the Aussie burger requires the use of teeth and consumption takes time. Fallout is inevitable, and a shower may be necessary after the event. Tomato sauce stains are best rinsed from clothing in cold water, immediately.
