Question on the Random Pictures

Is it possible to delete photos from members who no longer visit FG?
Some posters photos I find bizarre and freaky in the extreme.
The ones I'm thinking of mainly belong to Richard Cruz, (who IS he anyway?) whose photos I find extremely creepy and enough to make any visiting 13-year-old run for cover screaming. Also Maid Angela, who appeared only briefly but whose photos are rather bizarre. And finally, Abrihim is Muslim because I also think his photos are weird particularly his 15-year-old wife-to-be.
You probably wont, fair enough, but could you at least discuss it? Thanks.

Anyone wanting to suppress the display of a specific member (or ex-member)'s random photos can do it themselves. You need to install an ad-blocker add-on to your browser and right-click whenever you find one offensive. If, for example, you wanted to suppress everything added by musiclover, you'd right-click on any of his random images and cut the block instruction down to /forums/members/musiclover89-albums-random-pics, after which you'll never see any of them again.
The same goes for flashing sig pictures, flashing avatars and smilies. Take control of your browsing experience.

If the pictures we not seen as offensive and deleted at the time they were posted, why should we delete them just because them poster is no longer a regular visitor?

I've actually always found them offensive. I had assumed you allowed a member to post anything, assuming it wasn't obscene. But as the members are no longer here I thought you might reconsider if you knew some people found them offensive.
Do you not find Richard Cruz's pictures creepy in the extreme? :sneaky:

Rapunzel;1265716 wrote: Do you not find Richard Cruz's pictures creepy in the extreme? :sneaky:People said the same of William Blake. They do now about Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Richard Cruz has a sensitive artistic soul and the ability to express his torment. Not all of us can claim as much.

Really???
I find that so hard to believe about William Blake and Andy Warhol. Even Roy Lichtenstein, although I'm not a huge fan of his work.

Pictures are treated the same as posts - if they're offensive they're deleted as soon as we know about them.
And no, not those I've seen.
As with all aspects of the Garden, members can post what they want - we do not operate a pre-approval process as some Forums do. We rely on picking up offensive material as quickly as possible after the event and deleting it when seen.
Is this ideal? No.
Is it better than the alternative? Definitely. With a board this size the alternative is an hours wait (at least) between a member posting and the post being seen on the board - totally untenable if we want it to flow.

I enjoy viewing the random pictures when I first come here to the main page.
I like some more than others, but it's nice to see pics from old members. JMO
