I'm on there

I can't see anyone wanting any of mine, not were I to go tomorrow.

I've been a card carrying member for years.

Is this register anything over and above the later versions of the doner card?

I used to be, but I'm not sure anymore. I thought they were running commercials that you neede to go reup recently.

I think Floppy means here in the US we may have to sign up again for the program. I have been a card carrier forever. As I age not sure any of my organs well be of any use to anyone. :wah:

Isn't it true that donated organs are sold for profit and the family of the deceased are not compensated? I am a doner, but I've had second thoughts lately.

Not sure Bryn, maybe if you register again they'll know you really really mean it :wah:

I only ever had a paper declaration that I carried years ago, that was actually worth nothing as my ex husband wouldn't have allowed them to carry out my wishes.

I'm wondering if this way they automatically know your wishes, would they therefore be able to overrule your next of kin :-3

I moved from the paper declaration to the plastic card a long time back but you're right, registering again can't hurt.

As far as I know, the donor declaration is advisory and next of kin have a veto.

Betty, if he's your ex husband he's not your next of kin any more your mother would be (until your son is 18 I believe but I could be wrong), if you're still married he is.

Yes, I know. Just irritating that if you have signed the register it can still be over ruled. I've made sure my family know my wishes.
