Best memory of 2009.... What is it?:)

Mine is being home.. getting our own house again.

Getting my new job in September!

I had previously worked in another school teaching autistic children with severe learning difficulties. They were due to move on to secondary school, except they were going on to a special needs school. The head teacher said she didn't want to lose me but there were no more special needs children who required 1:1 tuition and so they would have to let me go. :-1

I looked at several other jobs which I didn't really want and then, right at the last minute, this job came up teaching 8 year old's in a mainstream school! I didn't think I'd get it as there were other people with more teaching experience than me, but I was offered the job because they said I had the widest range of experience! Yay! I was SO thrilled! It was EXACTLY the job I wanted and the age range I prefer! I couldn't believe it when they offered me the job! Especially as I had been the first interviewee, which means they had to remember me through all the other 8 applicants!

At my last school I was only ever on a temporary contract but here I was immediately put onto a permanent contract! I didn't even have to wait 6 months for an initiation period. I absolutely LOVE love love my job and am so thrilled to be working in such a lovely school with such lovely staff and kids! I've been blessed! :-4
