Chonsi,
I feel the same way here. It is absolutely freezing and so windy. I have to go out to a few stores and hate the thoughts. I just ran out to my car, and I feel like an icicle:wah:
How do people live in cold climates?

It's bitter here too, raining and blowing a hooley. Heating is pumping away on full and it's not making one bit of difference to my draughty living room

I hate when I'm sitting here, feeling all warm and comfy cozy, then the weather report comes on. Once I hear that it's 7 degrees with a windchill of 10 below, I am suddenly freezing.

Mate of mine is a weather nut. He says there are huge pools of cooler water in the N. Atlantic as a result of the increase rate of glacier melt which are affecting climate, the Jet Stream has diverted over the Mediterranean which has allowed Siberian air to move west (I'm just repeating this. I cannot vouch for its accuracy beyond the fact that my friend usually seems to know what he's on about regarding this issue).
The net result is apparently that the Gulf Stream motor shows signs of shutting down and on both sides of the Atlantic we're all effin freezing.
Weather Warning for the UK
Oh, and in case you haven't yet seen it, temperatures across Britain (including London - don't know about the far SW) are due to drop to about -12 deg C in town and much lower in the country on Thursday night. It's going to get steadily colder between now and then.

I guess that's why they're changing "Global Warming" to "Climate Change" since it's much more descriptive of the kinds of radical weather we'll be having. Everything from killer tornadoes to many more hurricanes and harsher winters.
We are so totally screwed.

(Thank goodness I'll be dead before it gets too crazy!)

Oh well. At least we look as though we're going to have Polar Bears around for a few more years. And you never know. A year or two of this sort of thing in China might open their eyes a bit.

We are used to it, its no big deal, you adapt by wearing appropriate clothing and stocking up on supplies before the big freeze hits. Its really just a way of life.

Ah, but for 45 years I lived in warm weather. Ten years here, I still am not acclimated. And I hate wearing all those layers for 8-9 months a year. :-1

we know how to dress here, did the driveway and porch and steps....but, even though I had a scarf on my face...it was still so very cold, that my cheeks froze.

You & I are basically in the same weather patterns...the wind was awful today & John had to go pump someone's curb trap this morning outside so I made him wear his long johns & 2 prs of socks & he was also wearing at least 3 shirts. Can't wait till mid June can you?;)

I'm jealous:wah:. Someday when your in the US, come to the East coast...we have the Polar bear club & the lobster club ocean events...you must dive in & get your hair wet or it doesn't count...at least with the lobster club if you dunk your bod in the Atlantic you get a free lobster dinner...all on January 1st.
