I like the idea of living in New Zealand or Canada for a few years but i'd want to die as i was born in Scotland.

I notice that Britain doesn't appear...............................no surprise there then!
It's been under 'mismanagement' for flamin decades. It's such a pity, because it has quite a nice climate, and there are some beautiful places.

Oh, don't be naughty gmc, you know perfectly well what buttercup means :yh_tongue I understand that a lot of people would prefer to 'go home' to die, to their birth country.

They can't be foreigners. They live in England. France, on the other hand, is full of French people, America full of Americans, Iceland full of Icicles - foreigners, the lot of them. Sometimes they come here to shop, but when they go home they are still foreigners. I've always felt it must be very depressing for them.:p

Yeah them bloody Icicles. They're everywhere. Most unwelcome. They're even hanging off my roof, for goodness sake

Probably illegal Icicles that came in under a lorry. I'd report them to the police.

England is a tea drinking, cricket playing, curry chomping country. In France you can at least get a decent coffee and a croissant!!!

Anywhere that you feel you can call home and be happy.
Its the people that make a country, not the land or climate, just the people.

That's what makes it such a wonderful place. And we come in so many different flavours, too: Vanilla, Chocolate, Coffee and Walnut. MMMMmmm.
The Scots are the mint choc chips of the UK: Slightly overdone and not quite believable, but remarkably tasty nonetheless. :p

Oh Barman,
No truer words were spoken. Thank you for putting things into perspective:-6
I've been very fortunate living within a family that has always loved to travel. My family, friends and I have travelled throughout the USA, Ontario...Canada, Africa, and Europe.
The places that I've loved the most are Donegal, Ireland, of course, the Algarve in Portugal and Venice, Italy.
But, when push comes to shove, there's no place like home. I think that the best place for me to live is in the good, auld USA:-4
Now the problem is where in the USA to live when I finally retire. I would love to continue living in my home state of Noo Joisey, but my state has become very unfriendly. It would be lovely to continue living along the Noo Joisey shore, but that's not possible.
I'm thinking of Siesta Key in Florida...beautiful area and lots of fun...dunno:D I want to stay close to family and friends:-4
