Last week while spraying the shrubs outside with plant food I had "Sandles" on, and as posted in an earlier post I was bitten by numerous ants!!! Well today, it finally happened, while spraying again (stupid was wearing sandles again) I looked down & I almost steppend on a "SNAKE"!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It slithered away into the shrubs!! I hate SNAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I heard that there were SNAKES here in FL, but I tought that was in the wilderness, not residential areas!!! Wow I don't like that at all!! Luckily my wife didn't see it, for if my wife saw it, we would be moving!!!
Well from now on I will only wear "SNEAKERS" outside here in SNAKE land!!! :-5

Wellingtons are good, you may only get a tan up to your knees but hey, at least you'd be safe.
And if the other half asks why you're wearing them, tell her you want to keep your feet warm!

Cars I can help you here.
Florida is populated from top to bottom with dangerous species, Rabid racoons, snakes, deputies, alligators, crocodiles, deputies, ants, deputies, spiders etc. It is a place to be treated with extreme caution.

crocodiles are found only in lake surprise, approaching key largo. deputies however, are ubiquitous. heh heh (wanna know why it's called lake surprise?)

Cars I have another good reason why you should not wear sandals when not on the beach
A couple years ago while taking my high risk kids on a hike, we were off the path in the woods and I felt a scrape on my toe but didn't mind too much. Carried on with the hike. When we got to the car I noticed it was still bleeding and hurting alot. Ah well I thought nothing of it. Got home cleaned it up carried on for the rest of the day then went to bed. The next morning I awoke to killer pain in my foot and 2 lovely 12 inch flaming red lines running up my shins. I was in so much pain I could not drive, I had to keep my oldest daughter (then 14) home from school so she could drive me to the clinic. I had blood poisoning. So onto pain killers and anti biotics, they killed the pain eventually 2 days later but the darn thing would not heal up and kept oozing 3 weeks of dr visits and more drugs when finally they looked further and ended up cutting open my toe to pull out a 1/4 inch long piece of twig that had broken off in my toe.
I only wear sandals now at work and to walk on pavement. Wow what an ordeal. ahahahaha
So not only do the living things get ya, so do the dead things.

BOTHWELL,
I know you can deal with raccoons, snakes, alligators,crocodiles.. and any other vermin on the planet.. BUT I AGREE YUU MUST APPROACH ALL DEPUTIES (especially those with initals of LC..) WITH THE UtMOST CAUTION, AND ALWAY HAVE A GIFT, NICE BOTTLE OF WINE ALONG WITH AND CHOCOLATES WITH YOU. THE ONLY WAY TO SURVIVE THIS ENCOUNTER..

Thanks minks, you're right I will wear leather sneakers or shoes from now on.
Was just lazy, using "slip-on" sandles because I take them off every time I go back into the house!!

One really never realizes how important the "feet" are untill they get injured.
When the "feet" get hurt & you can't walk, then what??? :guitarist
