My god, what have doctors sunk to a new low?

North York General Hospital is only a 10 minute drive, sure glad I've never been there.

Two more alleged victims came forward during the investigation. The three women, ranging in age from mid-30s to late-80s, were allegedly assaulted — one in 2007, another in 2008 and one this year.

All the women were under anesthetic and undergoing surgery at the time, police said.

“They are in an anesthetic state, the three victims we currently have ... have the ability to recall the sexual acts occurring to them during their surgical procedures,” Stehlik said.

Something about this story just isn't sitting right with me. Where was the doctor performing the surgery and the nurses that assist the doctor during surgery? I've had surgery where I've been under anesthetic and never woke up until I was in the recovery room. Anyone else think this story is weird or is it just me?

Sorry if you ever had surgery the room is filled with people at no time are you alone in the Operating Room. I worked in a Hospital for 22 years this story just doesn't seem right to me. My brother-in-law is a Heart Surgeon believe me you are never alone in the OR especially when your under anesthesia. How would they have any knowledge of this happening?:-3

they were saying on the news last night, that sometimes the medical staff leave for various reasons for a few seconds or a minute and that left him there alone.

Its quite common to just have the anesthesiologist there on his own as once I had surgery, my surgeon was there and talked to me, then she said she would be right back, several nurses had left after they had set up everything and it was just myself and the anesthesiologist.

Maybe in Canada but in the US I'm pretty sure there a laws and regulations that prohibit this from happening. There has to be a certain number of people in the OR at all times.

well, its true, did you watch the video?

I have no idea how he did this over a period of time with no one noticing nor having anyone around but he has been charged and they are hoping more women come forward.

What I'd like to ask is how anyone could continue seeing a "doctor" that looked like this?
