Ah, bless him, he was one of my favourites. I love westerns, and he always struck me as a very nice guy. As I remember, he was very tall and quite well built. He sat well on a horse. The passing of an era. :(

I used to have my own Davy Crockett hat when I was a kid.

I had one of them caps, too. Drove the parents crazy singing that song.

Fess was one of my favorite actor back in the fifties.
