I don't know about this particular situation, but generally speaking, I think in far too many instances the police abuse their authority.

Now since nobody wants to pay taxes, law enforcement may be in trouble. Many people who have been harassed by the police may feel its a good time for pay-back. I would not want to be a cop these days. To think I almost became one once. I'm glad it didn't happen.

We will probably get to the point where police protection will be 'for hire'. If you can afford it, thats great, if not, too bad.
