I just have to post a new thread to especially congratulate all the members in Forum Garden who are managing, somehow, to cope with running a house, bringing up children, dealing with all the domestic bills, problems, budgeting, and on top of all that lot, as if they weren't worked off their feet anyway, they are dealing with further educational courses, degree courses etc. at Universities, colleges etc. May I offer my congratulations and sincere respect to all of these amazing people ?

One person, comes to mind - Betty Boop, don't know how you cope Mrs! There are more, I know, so it would be nice to say 'Well done' to them as well, and here's power to your elbow. Please forgive me if I have omitted your name, but I'm sure other members will be able to add more people to this 'Well done' thread.

Well Done !!!!!!!

Your thread makes me think of my wonderful daughter-in-law. She has a career and takes care of my son, who is a teacher, and my three grandchildren. I see little segments of her life on Facebook. As many of you know already, they live far away from me in another state, so I don't get to see them as much as I would like to. She does so many of the little important and special things for her family. I'm sure she doesn't give much thought to what she does; she just does it because she loves her family.

They are all unsung heroes, AFTR. :-6

I have particular respect and admiration for the single parent, who through various circumstances has to look after a family, the house, all the money worries, hold down a full-time job to get enough money in to pay for everything, and also tries to obtain more qualifications to improve their lot. All this without a partner! I personally would not know where to start !

You are perspiring very well ;) :lips: and I also admire and respect you for coping with all the stuff you have to cope with - you seem surrounded ! I think of my own problems and have to say, 'what friggin problems?' and feel ashamed when I see how many other people have far more serious problems than I have.

There Is always some-one far worse off than yourself my parents used to say and every day I remind myself of that.

Believe me Gill, when your homework Is 5 hours on The Maastricht agreement, It Is a pleasure to come here.

:wah: A fruitcake, a dishevelled Goddess no less!

The reality is this, the ironing pile is reaching the ceiling, the brown cardi is somewhere at the bottom of the dirty washing pile, the hoover thinks I've disowned it and the car resembles a skip. There are books everywhere, full of page markers and I've even written in some (the children are horrified!). Spring cleaning will commence in April (2012) which maybe about the same time I actually get a life again :wah:

Not for much longer, Pammie, if I have my way.

Though of course our Betty's a star, she's doing so well and I feel so proud of her :-6

(And big hugs to you, Pammie, for being Pammie :-4)

GUFFAW!!

My son, when he was very small used to complain if I offered him a pink tee shirt. At that stage the kids got whatever was on top of the washed pile, and learned to like it. .. :sneaky:

Actually, I'm all for the disshevelled (how the heck do you spell that ??) goddess look... !!

Hugs to you both, Betty Boop and Theia!!!!!! And quit that unseemly wrassling over a piece of woollen clothing!!! OOOPS - gimme it... I'll cut it in two, Solomon-like, and you can have half each. OK??!!

But, Pammie, you heard Betty say that the bc is crumpled up, and probably very sad and forlorn, at the bottom of a pile of ironing. I'm a paid up, and active member of the SBCFA, and I'm going to rescue it.

Sort of like a feral cat - a feral cardie. You can save it, clean it up, neuter it, give it some shots and home it!!

I like the Rilke quote :sneaky:
