into the big blue sky

softly rising towards the sky,
into the blue beyond.
far, far away .
so very far away from here.
never looking back,
no not once will they look back towards-
where they came from.
smiling,
smiling for all the world to see
ohh, see how they smile for you and
for me.
watch as they raise up and leave us
running towards that goal.
the one thing we could not give them,
hope.
ohh, see how they fly away so swiftley
see how they soar so proud
now they are flying
flying so high in the big, blue, sky.
