It's a possible alternative to smoked haddock in rice, perhaps. With some parsley and chopped egg and a splash of cream. And maybe a drift of coriander leaf. Mind you, it costs a fortune and the smoked haddock works perfectly well for a third of the price.

To the best of my knowledge I have never eaten Haddock---I will have to see if I can find some.

Good stuff. Lives in chilly salt water. Take a net or a grenade.

I used to put tuna into a cheese sauce then pile it on top of a sliced boiled egg and sliced boiled potatoes, which would then be wrapped up in a square of puff pastry. Very rich but nice.

Haddock is a lot like Cod. perhaps a tad sweeter tasting.

I like it baked with a dill sour cream topping.

As for Tuna Casserole, Depends on who is cooking it.

Some great recipes, AFTR, thanks! I'd never thought about Tuna Tetrazzini, although I've made it with chicken & turkey. I'll try it.

I don't care for tuna casserole, about 43 years ago, just after we were married I was trying to be a good wifey, rushing home from work to make good meals !! I made a tuna casserole one night which was fine for a tuna casserole. He ate it, then said: 'honey, that's monkey barf, please don't make it again' :wah::wah:

The wet crumbly stuff. Smells like cat food to me.

Yup, it sure does, although the better quality white chunk tuna isn't so bad.

Ahi tuna done in a lime sauce served rare, is very good, had that in Maui a couple of years ago.

Cheap canned salmon / tuna casserole in white sauce with peas, corn, potato or leek, boiled egg, topped with breadcrumbs, tomato slices and cheese - a good cheap, tasty and warming way of feeding a big Aussie family on a tight budget.
