Question about cigars.....

Any cigar smokers out there amongst our FG'ers ?? :-6
Well, unfortunately, since I can't purchase those wonderful Cuban cigars

, I'll have to settle for a wee cigar called "Al Capone Sweet Cognac cigars."
Since I live at the beach, I'll have company all summer:wah:. A group of my family and friends love to have a wee cigar after dinner.
They all love Al Capone's cognac cigars...go figger:wah:. It's a cheap cigar but loved by all.
Question is.....How many should I order for my group of 6 who will be visiting on and off for 2 months during the summer. I will be ordering them on the net.
I can order the cigars in packs of 10 or a pack of 100 which I believe means that I'll receive 10 packs.
If I order a pack of 100 cigars, will they stay fresh for the 2 months? Where would I store them to stay fresh?
Thank goodness I don't smoke cigarettes anymore, but when I did smoke, I'd put the carton of cigs in the fridge:-3.....dunno...was that bad to do:wah:
Thanks for any advice:-6

I would order 10 packs of ten---------------keep them in the fridge where you keep your fresh veggies or fruits.

Get a humidor and start experimenting. Google Cigar Dave. He has a radio program on Saturdays and hes a plethora of info on all things cigar related.

In a humidor they'll last for ages but if it's a one-off visit then it might still be cheaper to order them JIT and pay the premium.

Thank you everyone so much. I appreciate your help.
Oh, I've listened to Cigar Dave, Nomad. I'll try listening again to his show.
I've been googling info about storing cigars on the net. Most people do not recommend putting cigars in the fridge as it dries them out.
So, I've decided to buy an inexpensive humidor, try it out, and only order 50 cigars as that's what this one will hold. Think this amount will keep my company busy for a bit:wah:
My concern now is the weevil:yh_rotfl
Anyone find one of these buggers in their cigar....

Thank you everyone. I just ordered the humidor and 100 cigars for my company as I got a good buy on them. Think I'll put some packs in the humidor and give others as gifts.

Ok....I received my humidor and wee cigars the other day for my company this August. Does anyone have a humidor that can answer my questions before I email the humidor company?
Their directions for setting up the humidor seem a bit vague for me.
Here's a picture of my humidor, hygrometer, humidifer and cigars. Cigars are in packs of 10....10 packs in total.
Following directions, I've place a shot glass with water, plus the hydrometer and humidifier into the box until it has 68-72% range to season the humidor. Then I'll have to test the hydrometer to make sure it's working properly by performing an experiment with it, and then letting it sit for 6 hrs. Happy that I love science :wah:
My questions are........
1. Can I place the hydrometer in the circular slot in front of box and the humidifier inside the box?
2. It says to fill the humidifier with distilled water and propylene glycol or a substitute. Geeze, I don't like the pro gyl...can I just use the distilled water?
3. I have the cigars in individual boxes. Guess I have to take them out of the boxes and wrappings and place in the humidor naked:wah:
4. How often would you check the humidity of the humidor?
Many thanks for all your help:-6 Oy vey, my company better appreciate these wee cigars. Maybe one day I will be able to buy real Cuban cigars and place them in my humidor:-6
