A letter sent by comedy legend Stan Laurel 45 years ago to a man with the same birthday was sold yesterday for £580.00 in Glasgow Scotland.
The letter sent to Peter Elprick of Ellon, Aberdeenshire,was snapped up at McTear's auctioneers, Glasgow yesterday afternoon.
Laurel, who was one half of slapstick comedy team Laaurel & Hardy, was replying to Mr Elprick, who had sent the movie star a birthday card in 1960.
Mr Elprick (71) sent the card after discovering he and Stan Laurel were both born on June 16.In his response Laurel speaks of his love for Scotland.
