Do you talk on the cell while driving, or worse yet, text and drive? I ask because in the last few days I've almost been hit three times and each time the startled driver looked up with a cellphone plastered to their ear and a look of shock on their face. Keep your eyes on the road people!

I usually will not answer my phone until I get where I'm going. (Hey, I lived for forty years without a phone in the car and got along just FINE!) If it's an emergency, I might put the phone on speaker and put it on the seat next to me but I NEVER text and drive. that is the height of sheer stupidity to me.



WARNING:GRAPHIC VIDEO!!! (Seriously, this video upset me, and it could do the same to you. But I thought it was important for all of us to remember that a car is a dangerous and deadly weapon if you are not being careful.)

NO...!! I know what you mean I see the fear on drivers face when they realize they are about to rear end the car in front of them all the time. Hands free doesn't seem to be working either as they get focused on their call and not their driving. I hope eventually all forms of talking on cells in the car will be stopped. It is to dangerous on the roads and adding talking on phones to the mix only assures more die daily becaused of it.

My job requires I be accessible 24/7 but when driving it goes to voicemail if I feel the urge to see who it is I PULL OVER and make the call. :driving:

I equate accidents from CELL PHONE use right up there with DRUNK DRIVING just as dangerous and lives are being lost because of it. :-5

It is illegal in California to use a hand held cell phone while driving or to text message, however, the modest fine of $20 for first offense does not seem to deter anyone. I got a speeding ticket in June for going 80 mph on the freeway where the speed limit is 65 mph. That ticket (my first in 35 years) cost me $175.00. The cell phone use or texing seems far more dangerous than my 80 mph on a non busy freeway. AIN'T FAIR!!!

It is now against the law to text and drive in Georgia as well.

I use a bluetooth if I talk while driving-never a hand held. I can hardly text while sitting still........

ROFL! That makes me think that we have probably talked about all there is to talk about at one point or another around here!

Its illegal here as well. I do know someone who watched a video clip on his i-phone while driving on the motorway

I try to avoid even talking on the phone with hands free, as I have found it easy to be distracted by conversation.

It seems that too many people are driving and the last thing on their mind is that they are hurtling down the road in a ton of metal and plastic at breakneck speeds, with a whole lot of other people out there who, likewise, are paying little attention to what they are doing.

And, It only takes one person not paying attention to cause a serious accident.

People who text and drive just totally **** me off. I'll yell at people for talking on the phone to shut up and drive. I love the ones that I see pulled over to talk or text. It's good to know they have common sense when they are behind the wheel.

No court would ever be able to convict me of texting whilst driving. My nails are far more Important than sending texts.

It's illegal over here in the UK but I see dozens of people daily using their mobiles (cell phones). I NEVER do ! Firstly you'd be driving with ONE hand and Secondly your concentration would be badly affected. As for texting.....MADNESS !

I have seen far worse pictures than those that AFTR posted a while ago. The same video posted here. I would dig those pics out and upload them but they really are pukeworthy.

When mobile/cell phones first came out, I did use them while driving but quickly saw that I couldn't concentrate on my driving and stopped doing so.

My phone goes into my jeans pocket and it is nigh on impossible to extract it from my pocket while I am driving. I never use the phone while driving unless I'm in a bad traffic jam and I might text whoever I'm going to visit. I still won't use it to make a call in a jam in case the jam clears while I am using it. at least if I am just texting, I can just put the phone down and concentrate on driving.

That would explain why my only calls are wrong numbers. And, twice a year my prepaid funeral plan calls to ask about my health.:wah:

Do you really expect me to text as well as drink coffee and eat while posting to FG on my Iphone as I am driving??

That would be irresponsible!
