The PM you may have, like me, received from Serendipity2 is............ Spam.

This Spammer has posted similar messages throughout the web.

I think you can set your PM to only recieve from contacts. I didn't get one from it.

It's gone by-the-by... probably we should expect Serendipity3 any day now.

Was binbag thanked for reporting the PM? I didn't get one either.

I received a spam pm also from Serendipity2 about 12 last night. I reported this spammer twice....Once to a mod who took care of it (thank you again my friend!!) and also hit the report button. Jeez, I'm so unobservant..didn't even know the button was there in our pm box:wah:

It was very quiet about midnight last night, and Serendipity2 was a happy, little camper pm'ing everyone:wah:

There was also another spammer who posted to himself, a link to an advertising site, in the 'visitors message' area in his profile. Spammers are getting very crafty. They even post in the blog area.

Just checking....Do most of the mods want members to continue reporting spammers?

Very much so - we cannot see everything and it is a much appreciated aid.

KE reported it to me I started a thread with her PM. We thank you both for bringing it to our attention as it seems no MOD'S got the PM from him/her hummmm...!!

Oh, I didn't see your thread Carla nor did you have to post one to thank us. I appreciate all the hard work of all of our mods trying to get rid of these spammers. They drive me crazy as they're so crafty finding hidden places to insert their advertising links....hidden in blogs, visitor message areas, and appearing to be concerned about health and love issues, and then posting links to their spam.

Thank you for all that you do. I've been to other forums that are so full of spam, and no one takes notice.

hummmm...!! right enough. I wonder if that was accidental or a deliberate omission!!

I find it hard not to be sceptical as far as spammers are concerned. Grrrrrr
