There Is nothing like a trip to the Oncology departments and wards of our hospitals to wake us up and make us realise just how much time we waste worrying about such un-Important matters.
So there Is some dust on the TV. There are some un-washed cups In the sink.... There are some weeds In the garden... so what !!!
I have been blown away and saddened to see so many young people and children fighting cancer In our Hospitals and when you see the brave reserve of these young people, you take stock of life.

So true Oscar. We worry so much about unimportant things when others are suffering so much. Puts things into perspective, doesn't it!
My niece, Karen, will be flying from NY to Chicago in October to run a marathon which will raise money for cancer research. We've all supported her and wish her the best:-4

That is true, oscar. One walk down the corridors between life and death, and a look at the young ones-you never forget them and their perserverance.

Two years ago when I was dx'd with Waldenstrom's and underwent treatment at the Oncology Infusion Center, I was feeling sorry for myself and asking the usual question. Why me? I looked around and could not help notice that seated in the 20 or so Infusion chairs were mostly young people. This sobered me up real quick when I realized that most of these youngsters would probably not even reach half the age that I had already attained. My cancer though incurable was treatable and I would probably die of something else. These kids suffered severe leukemia, brain cancer and other severe cancers that would take them early.

So very true Oscar life is to be lived and make the best of every moment. I have spent time at our childrens hospital and seeing sick children with diseases that will take their lives is sad they fight the good fight to the end some make it some don't bless them all.
