Does anyone know a rhyme or poem, etc, about tying shoelaces?

I seem to remember one which went 'around the mountain and through the tunnel' for tying the bow, but that's all I can recall. Can anyone help?

Build a tee pee, Come inside,

Bring a friend. Close it tight so we can hide.

That's great, thanks Carla. I'm trying to teach a boy to tie his trailing laces because he said his dad won't teach him. That's a good poem for a boy.

Here's a little story I found.

Sad Rabbit

Once there was a rabbit that was very sad because his ears were so long and narrow that he stepped on them all the time. One day a fairy landed on the bunny's head. She lifted up the bunny's ears and crossed them over like an x. Then she put one ear through the bottom of the x and pulled. Next, she made each long ear into a loop and made another x like before. She put an ear under that x and pulled again. From then on the bunny remembered how to tie his ears into a bow, and he lived happily every after.

A little off topic, but when I keep seeing this thread's title it reminds me of this joke.

The definition of a senior citizen going to a "formal event" is: "Tying shoelaces"!! :wah:

If the lad wants to tie a bowline once he's mastered his laces (one of the essentials of life, in my opinion) take the end of a rope in your right hand and hold the standing part in your left. Make a loop in your left hand by passing the right over it and back where it came from - that way the loop forms the correct way round. Tell the lad the end of the rope is a rabbit and show how it comes up its hole, round the back of the tree (your right hand naturally taking the end from right to left) and back down the hole again. A gentle pull on the standing part will lock the bowline.

If you tell me when you can do that consistently I'll show you the others.
