I can't tell my family...I can't tell my friends here in town.So the next best thing..My friends at FG!

My neice just phoned me with big...NEWS we have waited for for EVER..2 years ago when my doctor told me I was really in need of a stem cell transplant - out of 12 bothers & sisters..nobody was an exact match..My neice who is due to have her baby this fall.....just found out we are a MATCH!! My niece and I have decided to keep this quiet - just becasue she has to make some serious choices about this..She will have to deliver in a bigger hospital - not here at home..her husbands brother died of Lukemia just 2 years ago...and he has 3 sons..This is her last baby as she got pregnant just for this reason..To better my life...but her husband made the comment with - his kids having the chance of lukemia - do they bank it for them - just incase.. - I do understand..When they have made their decision - then I will know.. I can not ask for anything more..BUT can u imagine.. My life may soon take a huge turn!! I had to tell someone!! I couldn't keep it in! Thanks for being such good ears!!!!!!! :-4

mom- Our next door neighbor had a Stem cell transplant performed last year supplied from her Brother. He was the only one out of 3 Brothers that was an exact match. She first had to go for kemo to kill off her White Cells, then take some kind of meds to protect her from germs. She lost all her hair, but didn't mind that much because she knew that's what had to be done for her to get her body ready for the transplant! She had it done a year ago last March, and I'm happy to say that her Doctors said she is doing extremely well. Her hair has grown back now and she is feeling like her old self again. So keep a stiff upper lip, I too believe the Baby's imbilical cord Blood Has Stem Cells that can benefit you. Good Luck, & Best wishes!!! :)

Thanks for all the good wishes....I will try and keep u updated..You guys are great..I spent the day at the hospital with the counselor..If I do this - this is quite a huge thing for my family..MY KIDS! They will take me down to absolutly nothing - no good cells or bad..When the high doses have killed everything, good and bad - I will not be able to be around my kids and be in the hospital for a week or so. That really bothers me.You could say I am a parent that HAS to have her hug and kiss EVERYDAY - maybe 5 TIMES! LOL My kids are my world..I was a single mom for almost 5 years and they are my everything...BUT to be able to watch my 5 year old graduate and get married some day - this is my chance..I have to take it!

Anyway - I am off to bed..Thank you so much for your wishes and prayers!! Your the BEST! :-4
