Chicago is my original home town, and occasionally there will be interesting news stories from that area. I will be adding more articles as I discover them and post links to them here. Please feel free to comment on any article.
This first article caught my attention today. I like when mysteries are solved.

There's only one thing I can say to this story:
As new, mostly white people moved in, and almost all the other black families moved out...
There goes the neighborhood!
BTW, I'm a bit downstate from you, this side of the Mississippi across from St. Louis.

Thanks, kg!
Stories like this are so sad to me. Sad for the baby and sad for the mother.

Oh, it certainly is sad! Why these mothers can't take advantage of the faultless give-up is completely beyond me. At least the poor baby would be safe and cared for!
I can (barely) understand not wanting the responsibility for a child, but when such a program is available and a mother still endangers that child's life so, it's unconscionable!

Much the same is happening here in my area. As was stated in the article, "It's a little bit of a loss of innocence..." It's also a loss of a lot of fun for movie goers. This may extend to all costumed events, such as Trekkie conventions and showings of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."
In my opinion, the shooter could be properly dealt with by putting Guantanamo to good use, since I notice it's still open.
