Are any of you familiar with the concept of "lucid dreaming"? I only recently came across a reference to it and thought it interesting. I've never experienced it and I'm not certain I want to fiddle with my sleeping routine as I'm grateful just to get a good night's sleep without interruption of any sort. I have to wonder ... can a dream that entails your mind controlling the scene result in a restful & rejuvenating sleep?
I can usually remember my dreams first thing in the morning but always as the memory of a casual observer ... not as an active participant controlling the events. The idea is intriguing though ... any experiences?

I have only had two dreams I can remember having both of which I have felt I was a participant in, and woke up when I figured out I was just observer. On of which I was dreaming of a on coming tidal wave and me and a lot of people were running from it, when I realized the wave never moved I woke up.

Boy did I ever have a Lucid Dream--------------------I dreamed that I was eating a Giant Marshmello and when I woke up my pillow was gone and I had massive indigestion.

Everybody does it. How often have you heard the phrase I woke up from a good dream? Kids in particular do it a lot. I used to have terrible noghtmares and so trained myself so i don't remember my dreams any more - or rather I remember them very seldom and not for long. My wife as a child was told, it's your dream you decide what happens tell the monsters to go away. Kids just do what they are told. She can remember her dreams when she wants to. If dreams are a way of working out problems subconsciously that's a great way to help a child to cope with nightmares and face their fears.
There are things you can do to make you more aware of your dreams it's up to you if you wish to pursue it or not. Hallucinations are a kind of lucid dream, try doing without sleep.
