What was it like? I love the ripples in the sand that look like a wake made by the train.

I would love snow more than sand and desert :D.

I was going from Ahsa to Riyadh City to see my sister about three years ago. I didn't have a car at that time so I went by that old train. the trip was cool, I mean the train was surrounded by sand all over directions. the funny part was that the train was freezing inside and the outer temperature was about 51C.

It was interesting experience for me :driving:

Sounds as though it has air-conditioning to keep it cool for the passengers.

As for sand or snow, I guess they both have their irksome problems. The track must shift about quite a bit with the sand.

you know it depends on relative temperature for human bodies, I feel very cold when the temperature is 20C because I'm familiar with temp about 35C to 44C. that's why I felt like I was freezing in that train :p.

I love both: Sand and snow, and I'm planning to travel to a country which snows in winter time. :guitarist

You won't find any snow in Australia. :lips: :)

I have thought about it, but apart from a few months working in Morocco, I haven't had much of a chance. One day, maybe.

I would like to be able to go to Australia too one day. Mind you, I would love to just take a long tour around the world.

An FG meet up in Oz would be quite spectacular I think.

OMG, OpenMind...what a spectacular meet that would be for sure. I absolutely know that our AussiePam would put on her tutus and boa and frolic around playing Donegal songs on her flute. Ahhhhh...sigh...even though we probably can't meet there soon, at least we can cyberly visit with each other. Let's pm Pam, Kaylene, Fuzzy and Mrs. K and have a cyber meet...

I wouldn't like the first one because of my acrophobia. The rest look like fun and beautiful scenery. Here's one I went on last fall in New Hampshire. A cog railway and very cold at the top in October.

Mount Washington Cog Railway - Climb to the Top of Mount Washington on the world's first mountain-climbing Cog Railway trains!

That looks like it would be a fun trip. But I am sure there's another cog railway in Switzerland going up the Alps. The only way they can get a train to climb such steep gradients.

Ahhhh, it's just wishful thinking on my part OpenMind. We couldn't ever have a cyber meet. Things have changed in FG, and it's a sad place for me now.

I'm sad that you're sad. :-1 Nice people shouldn't have to be sad.
