Love this campaign.

About time the H8ers got shamed.



Warning: there's obscene language but not nearly as much as is required to match the obscenity they're fighting.

I swear most days, but couldn't manage to fit all that into 24hours.

It's not big and it's not clever and what is worse it is alienating the people it targets

Why is the membership inflicted with this offensive post, by a moderator I would add ? I'm sure most people swear. But this is disgusting putting up a thread that contains a video as vulgar as this. I did click on it to see what it was all about, but I stopped the video after the tirade of 'f,,,ing' carried on for about 30 seconds, and some of those taking part were children !!!!!

There's most likely a reason this organization chose to convey their message this way. My guess is that it's using hard language to ask questions such as the following (and probably more): 1) is hate of gay people as disgusting to you as f-bombs all over the place? 2) Is it more wrong to teach and permit children to use the "f" word than to hate? Also, the attitude portrayed in the video is a mirror image of the hate others spew toward gay individuals.

I like the video. And yes, it belongs on a discussion forum where people can debate it and exchange what it's meaning is to them.

I don't particularly object to the video being posted. There is a clear message warning of the language. I just don't get how the message is carried. Most people just wouldnt want to listen to kids using the language. I got half way through it, shrugged my shoulders and turned it off. Take the profanity away and the anger is still clear, the message is still clear.

Its an important message clouded with another issue. We are now talking about the profanity spoken by children, rather than the homophobia

The people bullying gays until they kill themselves haven't thus far responded to "Stop or I'll say stop again."

Personally, they could have gotten further with me by interviewing family and friends left behind. That would have had more of an impact than having kids cuss on camera and on-line. It's there the rest of their lives, now.

On the other hand, I find it much less objectionable than I have the links to the animal abuse sites folks feel justified in placing here to advance their cause.

But I don't see anything shaming in it for the haters, which I would assume was it's goal. To me the shame is in using children in the campaign in this manner. They could have had them be the voice of reason. They opted not to.

It's a failure, IMO. The discussion is about the delivery rather than the message. The very folks you would want the message understood by, are not even hearing it.

It's a viral campaign meant to shock people into reposting it and buying their shirts to get more people seeing the phrase and googling it and reposting it to sell more shirts. Somewhere in there the message will be promoted.

As far as children swearing goes... it's a bit of a current trend. Will Ferrell has a comedy bit with a four year old playing his drunkard landlord demanding he pay his rent. It's kind of funny but the little critter is saying some pretty nasty stuff. My 14 yr old sent me the link.

This message is not targeted toward anyone other than people who are already sympathetic to GLBT injustices. The idea is to fire them up into action of buying the shirts and raising money. For those who are sympathetic to the gay cause but are turned off by the video, those people will most likely not be alienated. No matter what aspect of the message or video people talk about, the point is that the conversation is focused on the image of the video. Judging by what's happening here, it's working. It is a very smart marketing campaign.

They're up against a very strongly ingrained prejudice. Attacking it on every level is a very smart move.

There is a specific type of humour involved here that becomes viral. It's very serious but it's also kind of funny. The guy in the blond wig already has a viral hit with a "song" called Shoes. He knows his audience.

IMO, like one or two other posters, the video is done in such a way as to cause people to think of the disgusting profanities and not the message that the video is attempting to promote. I'm afraid that IMO this video has failed in it's message. The people making this video could have done a much better job by excluding all the profanities, particularly by children. It drowned its message in profanities.

If it was a video made by 'anti gay-bashing' groups, I do find that 'gay-bashing' is repugnant, but this video certainly does not cause me to leap up and buy T-shirts etc. promoting the anti gay-bashing groups.

I find this just as exploitive as I did the other. They should all be ashamed to be using children to justify their position.

All the F-Bombs in the world couldn't offset the sickening sanctimonious arrogance of the right-wing. My family and I watched the first video six times last night as we discussed it, the more we watched, the cuter that little girl appeared.

You present it as an either or choice but it is far more likely to be both or neither - those that would teach their children to use language like that would also teach them to hate.

Hate towards any group of individuals is disgusting but then, so are "f-bombs" all over the place and the existence of the one does not justify the use of the other - the language in the video is a distraction from the issue and prevents proper discussion of it.

They should be responding to a long stretch on jail for manslaughter - the failure of the law to protect citizens is hardly an excuse.

But children are involved. There is no child in that video that is younger than the age I've seen children call one of their peers a faggot at school. They learned that from somewhere too.

Those who teach abuse to the children are generally the parents, not the producers of videos.

It's the kind of thing kids will look at on line and perhaps some of those kids hearing the prejudice from the parents might question it a bit - assuming they get to use a computer in the first place.

If it gets kids talking about it then it has worked. Jesus never said anything about homosexuality anyway so I can't understand why Christians get so worked up about it. Each to their own.

Why is the f-word bad? Is there a committe, process or vote where we make more bad words? I'll vote to make the whole English language profane and then we can move past the silliness.

Certain words, mannerisms, looks, opinions, etc are marked as taboo by a cult or religion, and it isolates the followers from the larger society. It helps create a closed information system.

I agree the f word shouldn't be bad I like using the f word . I actually find it quite amuzing when I combine the f word with words such as Gazebo, Bouffant, Spatula, Igloo, and hullabaloo.
