There's always gonna be someone that pisses you off but you have to get along with them. If you have to work with them every day, what are your survival techniques?
I always try to look at it as a challenge instead of a chore. If I think about how they shouldn't exist it won't help. If I think about how much I'll improve if I learn to not let them affect me then I kind of feel like I win.
Unfortunately that can also result in them escalating to try and figure out how to get a reaction.

It is a interesting question. I just ignore them for the most part only interacting when necessary. The ones who get on my nerves the most are those that don't pull their weight and get away with everything they have mastered the "Squeaky Wheel" theory they constantly complain and get away with it. Eventually in most cases they are found out by management and eventually go bye bye..

I've thought about making little fill in the blank forms and every time I'm attacked just handing the complaint form to her. If it's worth confronting me with it should be worth putting on paper. That way, she can decide what is worth fighting about based on whether or not she thinks the higher ups will consider it reasonable or not when presented with the written citations.

I don't know if a written format would be a good idea, that might seem confrontational to begin with to the other person.
I use avoidance as much as possible, since I probably don't have to interact as much with a fellow employee I don't get along with-they usually are on the admin. side too, so always carry the advantage. And carry grudges. I think I shall bear the brunt on my return from vacation-I lobbied to be allowed to play in the faculty basketball game, and that person is temporarily in charge of the school. He had a cow-thought I would have a heart attack on the court. I was the oldest player, and the teams picked had 30 or younger years old, only the PE coach who is 54 and a marathon runner was included. I fussed on behalf of the older folks, we all wanted to play too, and sure will next year. (we beat them soundly, my, my, what a shame) But I think he will fuss afterwards, he will remember I never broke a sweat and played half the time, while he did.......:wah:

Well done!
My problem is on vacation for a week so there's a bit of a break for now. It got to the point where all of us were just not replying to her at all. She had to ask if anyone heard her. lol At least I'm not the only one having the problem.

Just pretend they are naked. or invisible. or part of the office furniture.
Seriously, just do your job the best you can. Be courteous and professional to that co-worker. And be patient. What goes around.....comes around.

Only the most obnoxious self-righteous people get up my nose and people who get in my face. I deal with both accordingly and politely and in no uncertain terms. So far, I've only come across two such people in my life.
I find it difficult not to get on with people which is just as well having come to live In Yorkshire.
