Can these politicians find nothing more important to focus their energy on at this time?:-3

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Rush Limbaugh's imitation of the Chinese language during a recent speech made by Chinese President Hu Jintao has stirred a backlash among Asian-American lawmakers in California and nationally.

I agree. Limbaugh is like that kid that sat in the back of the classroom making fun of everyone and cutting up all the time.

The best thing to do was ignore his antics and not give him the satisfaction of knowing how much he irritated you.

While I appreciate how much such crap must annoy Asian Americans, Mr Yee's reaction just encourages the dope.

Carla,

I love talk radio. For the last few months, I've been listening to a talk show host named Doug McIntyre. His show is out of LA and NY.

He is spectacular!!!!

Shortly after condemning Limbaugh's remarks, Yee said he received racist death threats to his San Francisco and Sacramento offices. The lawmaker also received a profanity-filled telephone message Thursday.

Sounds like Yee has a valid point to me.

Can you imagine the uproar Limbaugh and Co would have made if any foreign radio or TV personality had mocked Bush in any way during a visit to their country while he was in office? He disgusts me and I don't think these politicians are out of line by condemning him for his inappropriate behavior.

They made fun of Bush's accent all the time. Doesn't make Limbaugh any less of a dick. ijs.

For the Record, the Chinese didn't seem to notice.

I don't think they listen to Limbaugh.

And his pronunciation of "nuclear" as 'new cu ler'.

One thing I've never been able to understand is, if a Chinese (and others) person can pronounce their "L" s as "R" s and vice versa, why they can't pronounce L's and R's where they belong? Does it depend on the location of the letter in the word? For example, several years ago, a waitress informed us, "Solly no robsteh." Then there was Dr. Henry Lee, famed forensic expert, who has had a TV show where he introduced himself as "Dr. Henley Ree." I have two very good friends, one Chinese/Mexican, one Chinese, who pronounce their L's & R's correctly. Just curious.

Heck, who knows? My beloved throws Rs in almost randomly (she likes her ice cleam in the corn) but can't put one where it's supposed to go to save her soul. Then again, she insists that Japanese has two different "O" sounds that I can't distinguish and reportedly can't pronounce. Same with Korean. R seems to have a different sound in every European language. Thai natives can't help dropping the last consonant sound from virtually every English word (pronounced "were").

I just settle for communication however I can get it.

How can a guy who is a professed prescription drug addict presume to judge others?

It is interesting.

Here is what I figured out, listening vely crosery

Actually, most of the oriental languages simply do not have sounds that are similar to the separate sounds of R and L as English speaking people use them.

The sound most orientals use is the same one for eithe 'l' or 'r'.

It is our English ear that makes them sound different.

I'm always judging someone or other. I'm usually right too.
