It amazes me how many people think their music isn't actually stored on their ipod for recovery purposes.

Sure, they're hidden files but... how do you think you listen to the songs when you're walking around unplugged unless they are on that little machine in your hand?

Apparently a lot of people end up trying to re-buy all their songs if the computer dies and they have to reinstall itunes. It erases what's on the ipod when you synch it but you can get all the music safely stored first!!

As with any device its how much you know about how it works. My experience of many years working with users is the majority have not one clue as to the inner working of their devices it just doesn't compute and they have no idea how to recover anything on any device. :)

It's the same with mechanical things of all natures, you need to know the sequence of operation, what components are involved, how each component works and how the components are built. Unfortunately no one bothers to teach anyone about all of that stuff. We suffer for it.
