hello as the lights burn brightly here at grumpy towers i apologise for disapearing for a while but im back and ranting as usual.
yes its that time of year again when the cadgeing brigade will be out in force people doing silly things and bygone stars are dusted off and shoved in front of the cameras for red nose day.
yes tommorow my friends they,ll be out rattling the buckets urging you to give genorously and showing the same starving african children covered in flies as you saw last year to urge you to open your hearts and your wallets.
but in these cash strapped times increased vat petrol rising food costs rising mass unemployment with most british jobs taken by foreign nationals working longer hours for less money can we really afford to chuck that pound coin in to the bucket for some starving african child ?
i dont think this year that the british public will be able to dig so deep as cash strapped brits hang on to what bit of money they have i dont think rnd 2011 will be the sucess it was a few years ago when sir scruffy never been near a barbers geldof and co belted out feed the world (well we,ve got most of em here in the uk ED )
personally i think as the belt tightens and the government turns the economic screws charities like rnd and the many other charities vying for our money will see donations fall as charity begins at home.
as for the grumps it,ll be sky tv or a early night with a cup of cocoa.
