I usually eat fruit for lunch. Today I had a bunch of grapes, a banana & an apple.

The apple got me thinking about something I read recently about Sir Isaac Newton. Of course he's the guy who famously saw an apple fall in his orchard around 1665 or 1666.

Apparently he then figured out that this very same force governed the motion of both our moon & the apple. Something to do with gravity. Science was never my best subject at school or now.

Well it seems that Newton was rather an odd, albeit brilliant man. He once pushed a "bodkin" ... a long needle ... into his eye socket and in his own words: "... rubbed it around between my eye and the bone near the back of my eye just to see what would happen."

On another occasion he stared at the sun for as long as he could to see what effect it would have on his sight! You'd think that a genius would have had more sense. Apparently not.

As the say before some tv shows: "Don't try this at home!"
