I have brothers and sisters, so we had a communal toy box in our basement.:wah:

In it were little cars, play dough, a couple hoola hoops, plastic soldiers, balls, a jump rope, yo-yo's, toy cowboy guns.....all kind of small toys. We girls kept our dolls and paperdolls in our bedroom so that they would not be sabotaged by certain over zealous brothers.

Once in awhile we found a fossilized cookie or a candy wrapper.

I had a Strawberry Shortcake, a Cabbage Patch doll, and my favourite - a Punky Brewster doll!

It's hard to recall what other toys I had, we didn't have many. But we had more than most of todays kids - imagination! With that, anything could become a toy! I had a hobby horse made of poly pipe and baling twine :wah: I loved it!

Not many we had bikes, skates mostly outdoor toys I grew up in the 50's I did have a "Tiny Tears Doll".

Tonkas, BB guns, sling shots and a Big Wheel. That list is suspect, no Bigwheels.

Yes, bikes and skates, the kind you put on your tennis. Always outdoors whenever possible as a child.

I did have a book and a cap. And boots, I had a pair of boots too.

Two of my sisters and I safely playing with our dolls.....in our bedroom. :wah:

I suspect I do have a photo of me from back then on this hard drive. It's not a pretty sight. With, quite possibly, one of my toys.

My brother had a cool slinky in his toybox, I borrowed it quite often.

Not sure a Lee Enfield would have fitted in a toy box :-p

I wasn't the sort of child you'd want living next door, certainly.

Speaking of which I came close to eviscerating my elder boy this afternoon. I showed him all the controls on my angle grinder including the stay-on switch setting, gave it to him, he took it to the plug point, tucked it against his stomach with his left hand and plugged it in with his right. Guess which position I'd left the switch in? His pullover has a 15 inch cut where it wrapped itself round the wheel and just - only just - stopped it from spinning up. I'm glad I only had the 600W motor. Thinking about it, he's equally lucky to still have all four fingers on his left hand. He ended up with an ungrazed red mark from one kidney across to the other and a startled look.

Not without reason, it turns out. It finally emerged that he wanted to reduce several lengths of what proved to be asbestos pipes and guttering. I've dealt with it.

Just putting angle grinder and asbestos in the same sentence give me the heeby-geebies. I hope you called out the Council disposal team (great fun that - they come in full contamination suits if you even whisper the word).

No, I wetted it down and jumped on it instead. Brittle, asbestos. It's now at the municipal tip.

Perhaps someone should have had some of these in his toybox......if he had one.

Headless Barbie Dolls.

I had a few barbies but wanted a ken to go with them, so I got one of my cheaper versions of barbie, made of softer plastic, and pushed its boobs in! :wah:

I had the first transexual barbie :yh_rotfl

Sindy ruled in my toybox.

Along with Tiny Tears, lego, rubik's cubes, clackers, Mr Potato Head, trolls and Weebles are just a few I can remember.
